Overwatch League commentator Mitch ‘Uber’ Leslie has responded after the Esports Awards showed a clip of the wrong person.
Uber was nominated for “Esports Broadcaster of the Year” at the Esports Awards, which took place on November 12.
During the show, the award was introduced with a video featuring a clip of each of the shortlisted broadcasters. When it came to Uber, however, there was a problem.
Rather than featuring a clip of Uber himself, the video instead showed a clip of Brennon ‘Bren’ Hook, an Overwatch League analyst who wasn’t nominated for the award.
Uber, who wasn’t at the ceremony in person, initially joked about the mistake on Twitter, but later expressed that he wasn’t happy that a show designed to celebrate the work of industry figures had failed to notice that they had confused two such people.

Honestly I dont think I deserved to win the award tonight but I am very unhappy with how I was represented in the finalist rundown.
However more than anything, I am relieved that I didn't pay for flights+accom to go to an event that was unable to tell me apart from a coworker.

Fortunately it is not in my nature to put a whole lot of stock in things like this, but I worked my arse off this year along with the team to put on the best show that we could, and I cant help feeling like this is a bit of a snub. Oh well. On with the show.

Since joining the Overwatch League, Uber has established himself as perhaps the game’s most highly though-of commentators, a broad vocabulary and talent for rapid delivery when necessary making him incredibly popular with fans.
Earlier in the year, Uber was named On Camera Talent of the Year by the Stockholm International Esport Awards, a separate esports awards panel.
The Esports Award was ultimately given to Clint ‘Maven’ Evans, a commentator on the Call of Duty World League, while Alex ‘Goldenboy’ Mendez came in second and Eefje ‘Sjokz’ Depoortere was third.
