Overwatch 2 Lunar New Year 2023 dates

The Year of the Rabbit Lunar New Year event kicked off in Overwatch 2 on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. This came just days after Winter Wonderland drew to a close.

The event is live in-game until Monday, February 6, 2023, meaning there’s almost three weeks of Chinese New Year celebrations to enjoy.

The Lunar New Year 2023 event was first revealed in the Overwatch 2 Season 2 roadmap.

New Overwatch 2 Year of the Rabbit skins

As is the case with every Overwatch 2 event, Year of the Rabbit will come with a selection of unique skins to unlock for your favorite characters. In 2022, Lunar New Year added four more cosmetics, but this time around, there’s unfortunately nothing brand new. Instead, players simply have the chance to unlock a handful of cosmetics from previous years.

Up first is the Kkachi Echo Legendary skin, first introduced in 2021. By completing four event challenges, new players can permanently unlock this item.

Also back in focus this year is 2020’s Moira Legendary Mask Dancer skin from previous iterations of the Lunar New Year event. Rather than unlocking in-game, however, this time around it’s locked as a Twitch drop exclusive.

Overwatch 2 Lunar New Year 2023 modes

The Overwatch 2 Chinese New Year celebration also brings a number of limited-time modes back into rotation. From the classic Capture the Flag experience to the free-for-all frenzy in Bounty Hunter, there’s plenty for fans to enjoy.
