Overwatch 2 has tweaked the designs of many fan-favorite Heroes, so make sure you check out all the changes ahead of the game’s launch.
Overwatch 2 aims to shake up the meta with its 5v5 team comps and keep players entertained with its new PvE content. However, one of the most exciting additions is the new hero design changes. Not only do the heroes in Overwatch 2 have a fresh new look, they also have even greater detail than ever before.
The game’s release may be a while off, but that hasn’t stopped Blizzard from revealing the new designs for Mercy, Tracer, and the rest of the ragtag crew. Overwatch’s colorful cast of characters continues to be some of the most beloved in gaming, so it only makes sense that the devs would want to make some adjustments.
While these character changes may be rather minor, they do help to distinguish both titles from one another. Without further ado, here are all the Overwatch 2 character designs.

Tank
D.Va
D.Va’s new look in Overwatch 2 is more subtle than most others. Rather than a full redesign or even new visual features, her color palette has been tweaked slightly. Rather than a full pink mech, it’s now mixed with white, purple, and shades of aqua, as is D.Va’s new bodysuit.
Doomfist
The difference with Doom’s new look in Overwatch 2 is also quite subtle. For starters, his golden sheen is less vibrant and for the most part, has been replaced by more dark equipment along his right arm. Moreover, the hero’s former white facepaint is gone in favor of some gold and red features.
Orisa
Beyond some flashy new headgear, Orisa’s range of colors has also been tweaked slightly for the sequel. Dark green is now present across the Tank’s upper body and is far more pronounced on her weapons too.
Reinhardt
Overwatch 2’s Reinhardt no longer hides his face behind his helmet – instead, the stalwart tank has decided to show his grizzled face to the world. Not only does this valiant hero feature his lion crest on his arm, it also now appears in the center of his breastplate.

If that wasn’t enough, Reinhardt has also beefed up his shoulder pads and finished off his hulking armor with gold trim. After all, every knight needs a cool-looking armor set they can rely on.
Roadhog
Roadhog has received quite a significant overhaul in Overwatch 2. From a new jacket and more spiky kneepads to a new mohawk and even a fresh hook, there’s plenty that’s changed on this fan-favorite hero.
Sigma
Sigma’s default look in Overwatch 2 is vastly different from that in the original game. Now with a completely different color scheme and more compact armor, he floats into battle with more polished look.
Winston
Everyone’s favorite genetically engineered gorilla also has a fresh look, albeit an incredibly minor one. Winston’s bulky shoulder pads have been replaced with smaller ones, while his energy pack has seen some adjustments. Instead of featuring various emblems on his armor, Overwatch 2’s Winston has a much simpler look to it.
Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball looks completely different in Overwatch 2 thanks to a number of key changes to both the mech and the hamster itself. Hammond now wears a new bodysuit and goggles while the machine rolls into combat with a darker base and more pronounced yellow features.
Zarya
While little has changed for Zarya in Overwatch 2, the first thing fans will notice beyond a color scheme revamp is her flashy new haircut. Still with her trademark short hair from the front, Zarya now complements the look with a ponytail.
Support
Ana
Keeping in line with many new hero redesigns in Overwatch 2, Ana’s appearance is a little brighter than before, Rather than a full black and blue coat, her attire is now fit with white patterns too along with some plain armor to reduce the overall noise.
Baptiste
Losing his iconic scarf, Baptiste’s look has been tweaked, but still retaining his iconic teal and orange color scheme. His boots have been changed, with a teal wash of color of the front, and his chest piece has been changed to a white and grey. He’s received a fancy new haircut, too!
Brigitte
Almost everything is the same for Brigitte in Overwatch 2. Outside of a more vibrant yellow on her outfit, along with some shiny silver armor plating, this character appears just as fans remember from the first game,
Lucio
Lucio’s dreadlocks have been switched to a much darker brown, while green dye has been used to further compliment his armor. The black arm and leg guards also really pop with the fluorescent green coloring, giving Lucio even greater style than ever before.
Mercy
Mercy has ditched the high ponytail and opted for a shorter hairstyle, which features a smaller halo. Her wings and combat medic outfit also feature new gold highlights, which help to make her armor really stand out.
Moira
Out with the darker tones, in with a brighter look, Moira has traded her full black coat from the original game in favor of a more greyish appearance. Notably, her right arm is now far more visible than it was previously.

Similar to most other Support changes, Zen is a little brighter on the whole in Overwatch 2. His golden pants are toned down as are his powerful orbs, now appearing with white coats of paint instead.
Damage
Ashe
Ahead of a full reveal, Ashe’s new look was briefly visible in Sojourn’s reveal trailer. Not much has changed for this particular Damage character, but Ashe now rocks some new boots, a different coat, and even has a slightly shorter haircut.
Bastion
Bastion’s visual upgrade makes his base colors more vibrant while adding some extra personality. Not only does Ganymede remain on his right shoulder, but Bastion also drops into the fight with a dandy hat now as well.
Cassidy
Blizzard has tidied up this scruffy cowboy’s hair and changed his light brown attire for a darker tone. His red poncho has received a modern redesign and now features a pocket on the side – making it particularly useful for storing cigars and ammunition. Rounding out the outfit are some armored kneepads and a pair of futuristic cowboy boots.
Genji
The cybernetic shinobi has received one of the biggest design changes in Overwatch 2 – in fact, the only two mainstays are that of Genji’s helmet and iconic sword. Instead of wearing his usual hightech gear, Genji has opted for a more casual approach for combat. Despite donning what appears to be an armored jacket and grey trousers, the deadly ninja still oozes cool.
Hanzo
Hanzo’s appearance has changed a great deal in Overwatch 2 as the hero now drops into battle with a full coat. Moreover, as time has passed, the grey in his hair has also become more prominent.
Junkrat
The Junker Queen gameplay reveal gave us our first look at the new Junkrat in action and well, the deranged hero looks more insane than ever. Now with bright red pants and a missing tooth, Junkrat is sure to be even more chaotic in Overwatch 2.
Mei
The fluffy fur frills that were present on Mei’s boots have been removed and the lower section of her coat has also seen some adjustments. The intrepid climatologist also no longer has a trusty item belt. While some Mei fans may not agree with these changes, it seems that Blizzard has been keen to declutter her old design.
Pharah
Pharah is one of the least altered heroes in Overwatch 2. In fact, the only changes are to her hairstyle and armor coloration. If you liked the mech suit design of Pharah’s original design, then you’ll definitely like the one in Overwatch 2.
Reaper
Reaper’s design has always oozed that of a shady villain. After all, this former Overwatch founder isn’t exactly known for his kindness. Featuring a jet-black hood and cape, Reaper can effortlessly blend into the shadows.
His new redesign is a much simpler one. Everything from Reaper’s bulky belt to his leg guards and jagged spikes have all been removed. After all, the best assassins operate best under the cover of darkness.
Soldier: 76
Overwatch fans got their first in-game look at the new, older, Soldier in the background of Junker Queen’s gameplay trailer on June 21. The iconic hero now has a full beard and a visor that only covers his eyes, not the lower half of his face as before.
Sombra
The elusive Sombra has been kept mostly the same, except for a few simple tweaks to her look. With fully purple hair, and extra adornments on her long jacket, her look is still as recognizable as ever. Subtle shifts in the placement of color to her look has been made, and the tone of purple has been adjusted to be slightly darker overall.
Symmetra
Not much has changed with Symmetra’s appearance in Overwatch 2. Outside of a slightly different shade of blue and a new gold pattern on her outfit, she looks mostly the same as she did previously.
Torbjorn
Torbjorn has often been a little neglected by both Blizzard and the Overwatch community, but the sequel aims to rectify that. Not only does Torbjorn have a fancy new hammer and goggles, but the turret-loving engineer also has a fancy new beard.
To make matters even better, Torbjorn has a magnificent mane of golden hair. This leaves us questioning why he always hid it beneath that old visor?
Tracer
Tracer’s iconic brown bomber jacket has been replaced with a grey version. The next notable feature is the addition of her new running shoes. The time-jumping adventurer is known for her incredible speed, so it makes sense that Blizzard would want to alter this in Overwatch 2.
Next up is Tracer’s arm guards. They may still maintain the same white coloring, but they have been streamlined to help cut back on drag.
Widowmaker
Widowmaker’s redesign was one of the first Overwatch characters that received a lot of acknowledgment from the community. Nearly everything from Widowmaker’s original outfit has been changed.
The deadly assassin’s sniper is much bulkier and shares the same dark purple coloring of her outfit. Widow’s Infra-Sight goggles also no longer completely cover her head, while the eagle-eyed sniper’s long purple hair has been braided. It’s certainly a lethal look for this popular character.
