Overwatch is no stranger to bizarre glitches, but a new McCree bug that’s popped up recently is one of the most hilarious we’ve ever seen in the game.
Normally, McCree can only shoot enemies with his Dead Eye if they’re within his field of view and he fully locks onto them.
However, a new clip claims to show McCree shooting an enemy completely behind him – but it may not be as glitchy as it seems.
In the clip, posted by Reddit user ‘Spatto99,’ McCree starts up his ultimate with all of the targeted enemies in front of him, as usual.
Just before he pops Deadeye, the enemy Genji dashes forward to what they think is the safe spot directly behind McCree.
However, when McCree activates his ultimate, he still manages to cap the Genji with a very aerobatic stretch that makes him look like he’s shooting straight out of his tush.

But is it really a glitch? At first glance, it doesn’t seem like McCree should be able to shoot Genji, since the cyber ninja is behind him; however, there may be more going on here than meets the eye.
We have to remember that the clip from Spatto is in slow motion, so even though it seems like Genji should be in the clear, McCree could still be locked onto him.
McCree must have activated Deadeye at the perfect time to hit the unfortunate Shimada brother, even as he appeared to be behind him, which made it look like McCree was aiming though his derriere.
If it’s not on cooldown, the best bet for a Genji in that position is to pop their deflect (either that or try to get behind the closest possible cover).
Closer examination shows that McCree’s butt shot doesn’t seem to be a bug or glitch, but an interesting and hilarious display of the hero’s mechanics. Just don’t go trying to do this in a competitive match, or you’ll be a real pain in your teammate’s rears.
