Lil Wayne blames past beef with Anthony Davis

In an expletive-laden post on X, Lil Wayne roasted the Lakers organization. According to the post, he’d felt disrespect from them before and knew a boiling point was approaching.

He then brought up Lakers star Anthony Davis in the same post, implying that his previous comments about trading Davis in the past led to this mistreatment.

The comments in question stem from a November 2023 conversation that Lil Wayne had with Skip Bayless on Undisputed.

In that appearance, Lil Wayne urged the Lakers brass to trade away Anthony Davis and begin preparing for life after LeBron James.

“Anthony Davis, I’m gonna keep it real. If you ask me if the Lakers want to be a championship team in the future, you gotta get rid of AD,” Lil Wayne said.

He was then asked to explain that stance. The rap star replied: “Because that’s his makeup. That’s who he is. Get rid of him and get some good players. We don’t even need a superstar.”

Davis posted his third 40+ point performance of the season on Thursday in front of Lil Wayne. His Lakers narrowly avoided a massive upset by the Wizards in a back-and-forth overtime victory.

Whether or not his comments are to blame for the supposed mistreatment, Lil Wayne has no doubts about it. And he says he won’t return to the arena any time soon.
