Saweetie and YG called it quits after dating for less than a year, but why did they break up?
Saweetie and YG were first spotted together in March 2023 during Rolling Loud California. A month later, they were once again seen at Coachella, and rumors immediately began swirling that they were an item.
Later that summer, they made it official when they were spotted canoodling in a swimming pool during what appeared to be a trip to Cabo.
In a new report, the pair called it quits after dating for less than a year, and it appeared to be a mutual decision.
Why did Saweetie and YG call it quits?
After dating for roughly seven months, Saweetie and YG threw in the towel on their relationship. According to The Shade Room, an unnamed source close to the situation said their split came down to the understanding that they were “better suited as friends,” read the official report.
The amicable split also had to do with being busy with their respective careers. “That’s where their focus remains at this time,” the report continued.

The romance extended far beyond their personal relationship when the pair collaborated on Saweetie’s one-off single “Birthday,” which also features Tyga, last year.
Saweetie previously dated Migos’ Quavo for two and a half years, which ended after rumors of infidelity. “I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character,” she posted on Twitter/X.
“Presents don’t band-aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women,” she added.
Despite the unexpected split, Saweetie and YG ended on good terms. By the sounds of things, neither Saweetie nor YG are looking to link up with anyone new anytime soon. Their careers come first.
