Billie Eilish made an offhand comment at the People’s Choice Awards shading TikTokers, and the internet rallied behind her.

Billie Eilish attended the People’s Choice Awards on February 18, as the pop singer was up for two honors, including Pop Artist of the Year. Ultimately, she took home the TV Performance of the Year trophy for her role as a cult leader in Swarm.

But it wasn’t her surprise win that has the internet in flames. While seated next to music icon Kylie Minogue, the pop singer commented on the presence of influencers at the popular awards show. “There’s so many TikTokers here,” she whispered, pointing over her shoulder. She then made a “not needed” gesture that many took as her way of shading the social media stars.

By and large, the internet seemed to agree with her and took to Twitter/X and Instagram to share similar opinions.

The internet stands by Billie Eilish’s TikToker comment

Underneath a viral PopCrave post, the internet went crazy with replies in support of Billie Eilish’s shady comment.

“Billie Eilish talking about the plague of tik tokers is hilarious,” wrote one user.

Another agreed, writing, “Tiktokers everywhere like a plague.”

“There are actually some talented Tiktokers but idk why they invite the bad ones,” laughed a third.

“She’s so real for this,” said another.

“Billie Eilish’s remark about TikTokers is like spotting unicorns in a forest,” quipped user zaqrider.

On a similar Instagram reel, the comments were much the same, as users continued rallying behind the singer. “Billie worked hard to be where she is and these TikTokers only recorded videos,” blasted one user.

“It’s almost disrespectful inviting talentless people to people with actual talent,” slammed another.

“I feel like it would be more understandable if it was TikTokers that is/has been nominated for a People’s Choice Award like Charli, Addison Rae, and Boah Beck,” said one. “But the others are just there, and I’m sorry but all of them that attended are talentless.”

It’s unclear who Billie Eilish was pointing to, but the pool of TikTokers who attended the People’s Choice Awards was small. Those influencers included Chris Olsen, James Charles, Alix Earle, Tana Mongeau, and Gigi Gorgeous.
