Confirmed Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters

NetherRealm released the final Kombat Pack 1 fighter – Takeda – in July 2024. The full list of characters featured in the first pack includes all of the following.

Kombat Pack 1

Ermac

Ermac is the famous character spawned as a result of a rumored glitch in the OG Mortal Kombat – the Error Macro bug. Notably, Ermac was eventually turned into a full character complete with ninja garbs.

Quan Chi

The mind-bending Quan Chi has been a fan-favorite since his inclusion in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. An expert sorcerer, Quan-Chi has remained a franchise staple, and MK1 was no different.

Takeda Takahashi

One of the newest members in the MK universe, Takeda Takahashi was previously depicted as the son of Kenshi. However, Liu Kang’s rebooted world made Takeda a Yakuza member and cousin of the blind ninja.

Homelander

This marked a surprising debut for The Boys franchise in Mortal Kombat considering Homelander’s addition to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but this shows just how big that series has become.

Typically seen as the poster boy of America, Homelander is anything but, and as quite possibly the most powerful superhero in The Boys, the heinous “hero” fits right into the MK universe.

Peacemaker

Portrayed by John Cena in The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker TV series, this character is another morally grey hero who has some evil in him. Plus, his addition means we technically get John Cena in Mortal Kombat. Hard to argue against that.

Omni-Man

The list of comic book characters doesn’t stop there, though. Invincible’s Omni-Man constituted the first guest fighter added to MK1’s roster. He has superhuman strength, super speed, and is pretty much impervious to pain, making him a tough Kombatant.

Kombat Pack 2

NetherRealm unveiled its Year 2 plans for Mortal Kombat 1 during SDCC 2024. These plans include the release of six more guest fighters, all of which are listed below.

Cyrax

Cyrax returns to Mortal Kombat as a gender-bent version of the fan-favorite cyborg. Little is known about Cyrax in the rebooted universe, but a trailer for the Khaos Reigns expansion suggests her loyalty to her Grandmaster, Sub-Zero, will soon be tested.

Sektor

The red cyborg initially debuted alongside Cyrax in Mortal Kombat 3. They both appear in MK1 as Kameo fighters, but the upcoming DLC marks their return as playable characters. And it appears as if the two cybernetic ninjas will end up butting heads.

Noob Saibot

Voice actor Kaiji Tang will reprise his role as the voice of Noob Saibot, who will go by the name Bi-Han. What this means for MK1’s Sub-Zero remains to be seen. However, a press release previously stated that Titan Havik got control of Sub-Zero’s soul, turning him into a henchman “dedicated to fomenting anarchy.”

Conan the Barbarian

This long-rumored character will finally make his Mortal Kombat debut. Interestingly this sword and sorcery hero marks the second character associated with Arnold Schwarzenegger to use his likeness in an MK title. (MK11 featured Terminator T-800 from Terminator: Dark Fate.)

T-1000

Speaking of Terminator, T-1000 from the series’ original sequel, Judgment Day, will soon join the fight as well. Actor Robert Patrick is confirmed to reprise his role for the iconic part.

Ghostface

Scream villain Ghostface is another character who previously appeared in MK1-related leaks. He counts as the latest horror icon to face off against Mortal Kombat’s roster, following the likes of Freddy Krueger, The Predator, Jason, and Leatherface.

For the Year 2 release rollout, Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot will launch alongside Khaos Reigns on September 24. NetherRealm has not announced launch dates for Ghostface, Conan, and T-1000.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns

A $89.99+ offering called the Khaos Reigns Kollection will feature the base game, both Kombat Packs, and the upcoming story DLC.

This new story campaign broadens the horizons of Liu Kang’s New Era by finally bringing some old faces into the picture.

Liu Kang’s battle with Titan Havik will force the former to rally trusted allies and set find common ground with a few enemies. If Havik has his way, the New Era will be plunged into chaos.

The launch trailer above highlights some of the tension brewing amid the bubbling chaos; Cyrax and Sektor especially seem at odds, for example.

Animalities also get plenty of limelight in the new trailer. Plus, it features a first look at one of Ghostface’s brutal Fatalities.
