Monster Hunter Now players want changes to Elder Dragon Interceptions, a new feature added in the Season 2 update.

Elder Dragon Interceptions went live on June 13 and are the biggest feature to arrive in the Monster Hunter Now since Hunt-a-thons. During Elder Dragon Interceptions, Hunters can face off against the fearsome Kushala Daora, the game’s first raid-type monster.

While the community has recently praised Niantic for its addition of Driftsmelting and multiplayer HATs, many players believe Elder Dragon Interceptions need some much-needed changes.

“The only thing I have issues with is that it is on the same cooldown timer as regular HaTs. It should’ve been a new game mode, entirely separate from HaTs,” wrote one player on the official Monster Hunter Now Reddit page

Others were also keen to highlight how Elder Dragon Interceptions also utilize the same tickets as regular Hunt-a-thons. This means players now have to decide between using their Ultra Hunting Tickets to either fight Kushala or five regular monsters.

“One gives me one fight that helps zero of my builds, while the other helps me with different element builds. Simple math,” wrote one Hunter. Other comments across separate threads also agreed with this sentiment, with many noting how regular Hunt-a-thons just provide more value.

“That’s the main reason I don’t do elder raids, I don’t wanna skip HATs because I have to do an Elder raid. My personal opinion would be that everyone can do elder raids two or three times, without CD, and for more elder raids you have to pay extra tickets.”

It’s still early days for Elder Dragon Interceptions and Niantic could make adjustments in future updates. After all, the devs did recently add Friend Quests — a way for players to team up with their friends and complete challenges together.
