Netease’s Marvel Rivals is overtaking Overwatch by bringing a roster of Marvel characters into a hero shooter setting. The 6v6 third-person shooter has teams battling it out across different game modes, and we’ve got a rundown of them all below.
While Season 0 was a massive success, players are eager to dive into Season 1, with new characters, maps and more included in the upcoming season.
In addition, the game is getting three new maps and a fresh mode, so here is everything you need to know.
All game modes
There are 4 core game modes in Marvel Rivals, so here’s a breakdown of each below:
Domination
Both teams fight to control a single point of an area on a small map. The team that captures the point must successfully hold it until it reaches 100%.
Once a point has been captured, you will be taken to another small map and the objective will be repeated. The first team to capture 2 points wins.
The maps featured in Domination are:
- Royal Palace (Yggsgard)
- Birnin T’Challa (Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda)
- Hell’s Heaven (Hydra Charteris Base)
Convoy
Each team is randomly assigned offense or defense at the beginning of the match. The offense must escort a cart or moving object to the end of the map. The defending team must try to prevent the convoy from reaching its final destination.
