3. Yenna, Redtooth Regent

Wilds of Eldraine Best Commanders - Yenna in the grove

Yenna starts off strong with a cheap enchantment doubling effect, but she really shines when specifically targeting Auras, as suddenly her ability becomes repeatable and scries to boot.

4. Beluna Grandsqual

Wilds of Eldraine Best Commanders - Beluna rests on her throne

Adventures are a relatively new addition to MTG’s ever-growing list of mechanics, but they’re swiftly becoming a beloved staple of the game. While adventure-supporting Commanders already exist pre-Wilds of Eldraine, Beluna is the first Commander to be an adventure herself.

Having access to both of Beluna’s potential effects in the command zone grants a huge amount of flexibility to your plays, and her color identity gives you access to a wide variety of adventures to stack your deck with. Adventures can spice up many archetypes in MTG, but Beluna can consolidate them into a functioning, powerful deck of their own.

5. Eriette of the Charmed Apple

Wilds of Eldraine Best Commanders - Eriette and her apple

Enchantments have been on a hot streak in MTG recently. Commander Masters’ Enduring Enchantments precon came with a powerful new Enchantment Commander, and Wilds of Eldraine has continued to raise the bar with Eriette.

Eritette’s colors give you plenty of Aura options to choose and control the field, and her lifegain will keep you in the game long after her end-of-turn effect has drained your opponents of vitality.

6. Kellan, the Fae-Blooded

Auras are a big thing in Wilds of Eldraine, but Kellan shines through his focus on equipment as well as auras. Both sides of Kellan are cheap and astoundingly effective; a two mana search from the command zone is a hell of a consistency boost, and Kellan can be cast soon afterward as a creature that can quickly start boosting your field at a rate that is hard to compete with.

7. Imodane, the Pyrohammer

Wilds of Eldraine Best Commanders - Imodane brandishes her hammer

It can be argued that red mana’s identity is inextricably linked to Lightning Bolt. Single instances of direct damage are in abundance, and Imodaine turns that laser-focused damage into pain for the whole table.

It can often be difficult to choose whether to aim your burn damage at your opponents’ life totals, or use it to take care of their creatures instead. Imodane fully disregards this dilemma and allows you to do both, sending damage dealt to a creature right at each opponent as well.

Completing the trio of witches on this list, Agatha is a cost-reducer with an aggressive secondary ability.
