Another testing period is approaching for Riot Games’ LoL-based card game Legends of Runeterra, giving players the chance to try it out from November 15-19.
Legends of Runeterra is a new digital card game based in the same universe as League of Legends, in a similar manner to the way Blizzard’s Hearthstone is rooted in World of Warcraft.
The game was one of several announced as part of the League of Legends 10-year anniversary, which also saw Riot reveal an upcoming FPS known as ‘Project A’, a fighting game currently titled ‘Project L’, and a mobile version of League of Legends.
Legends of Runeterra was the first of the new titles that players could actually experience, however, with the first public testing taking place immediately after the reveal, from October 15-20. Now, another chance to play is approaching, and here’s everything you need to know to take part.

When is the Legends of Runeterra beta?
Riot have confirmed two separate testing periods for Legends of Runeterra that will allow players to try out the game and offer feedback.
The next test will be a preview patch that, like the first in October, will only run for five days, from November 14 to November 19.

Later, in Q1 of 2020, Riot will be holding a closed beta that is likely to open the game up for a more extended period of time, although exact dates for this have yet to be announced. The full game is set to launch at an as-yet unconfirmed date later in 2020.
How to play Legends of Runeterra
During the testing periods, Riot will be offering a chance for players to get hands-on experience with Legends of Runeterra. If you want to take part, simply visit the Legends of Runeterra site and sign up with your Riot account.
Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get a spot, as Riot will only be giving out a limited number of places. However, the site does state that you can increase the likelihood that you’ll be selected by playing League of Legends, or watching Legends of Runeterra on Twitch when it’s available.
If you didn’t get in the first time, however, it seems you should have a better chance in the upcoming patch preview, as Riot have stated they want to get more players into the game.
