League of Legends offers players over 160 different characters to play around with, however, some champions don’t see nearly as much play as others. Here are the top 10 least-played League of Legends champions in Ranked Solo Duo.
Like in all online games, some champions in League of Legends don’t see as much playtime as the popular ones. For every Yasuo, Kai’sa, and Lux, you’ve got your Yoricks, Iverns, and Tarics.

10. Kassadin
Kassadin used to be one of the most feared champions in League of Legends. His immense mobility and damage meant you were on the clock to defuse the ticking time bomb of his kit. Nowadays he’s nowhere near as powerful, as multiple nerfs have taken him down a notch.
As an anti-magical champion, he just doesn’t work very well against the rising popularity of champions like Yasuo, Zed, and Yone. As a result, he’s relatively unpopular now.
9. Nilah
An unorthodox ADC, Nilah is a champion that is completely melee. This is a breakout from the role which is traditionally known for ranged carries who can kite backwards. Nilah is the complete opposite of this, wanting to get deep into the fight with her whip.
Unfortunately, her playstyle can come across as rather clunky, and definitely doesn’t suit what players love about the ADC role in the first place. As such, she’s often seen as one of the less popular champions, but can occasionally spike up if her items are doing well.
8. Kalista
Kalista used to be one of the most dominant AD carries in League of Legends. Her ability to kite back with every auto attack meant she was ridiculously hard to chase, and the longer you did, the more stacks of Rend she’d build up on you. However throughout the years, other stronger champions have been released, and her ability to dominate pro play means that she’s constantly the target of nerfs.
Now she’s just a really unpopular champion people don’t really want to play, especially when there are so many more viable characters on offer.
7. Singed
Singed’s unconventional playstyle easily places him as one of the less popular champions in League of Legends. With no way to really attack champions outside of his Poison Trail, he relies purely on a hit-and-run playstyle and hopes that enemies will follow him through the poison for damage.
On top of that, his laning phase is incredibly weak, making him sub-optimal for solo queue unless you’re a one-trick.
6. Kled
Kled is easily one of the most unorthodox champions to be introduced to League of Legends. He is the only champion who has an ability that can go off involuntarily, and as his main source of power, it makes him a tricky champion to balance.

On top of that, his unpredictability makes him less popular to play, as other more traditional top laners have a far more consistent time laning and scaling into the late game. Kled just doesn’t have quite the same oomph many other top laners have, and is the reason he’s on this list.
5. Skarner
Despite Skarner’s rework seeing him equipped with a new kit for a more modern League of Legends. Several consecutive nerfs have resulted in Skarner dropping to near-unplayable levels of power. Due to this, many people simply don’t want to play him in ranked, and he is facing the same problems he had before his rework.
It’s possible that Riot buffs him and he quickly resurfaces as a strong pick to play, but the scorpion remains dormant for now.
4. Taric
Targon support champion Taric sets himself up as one of the least popular characters in League of Legends. Before his rework in 2016, he barely saw any play, being labeled as a meme champion who wasn’t even worth a look. Unfortunately, his rework didn’t do much to change things, as his play rate still remains low to this day.
Relying on tethering to another ally, Taric’s kit seems incredibly powerful in theory. His ultimate is capable of making his entire team invulnerable, and with a stun that can be extended to his tethered ally, his abilities look strong on the surface. Despite this, his playstyle and clunky kit hold him back from being a more popular pick in today’s meta.
3. Ivern
Once a terrible Noxian warlord, Ivern’s villainy saw no end. That is until he was turned into a tree, who definitely seems zonked out of his mind. Ivern is Riot’s take on a supportive jungler. The first of his kind, Ivern was designed specifically to work only in the jungle, with his passive allowing him to farm monsters without needing to actually fight.
Supports however are one of the least popular roles in the game, and with other more appealing champions in the jungle, Ivern fell by the wayside. His kit allows him to set up ganks, shield allies, and even summon a Sentinel to fight enemies for him, but his abilities never sat well with the player base.
2. Rek’Sai
Rek’Sai is one of the most temperamental junglers in all of League of Legends. Her power is subject to constant change and she can go from one of the best to the worst champions in a mere patch cycle. Because of this, she’s relatively unpopular when she’s bad, but can skyrocket to relevance when she’s good.
It just so happens that she’s on the weaker side at the moment, and that is why she made this list.

Renata Glasc is known for her unconventional supportive playstyle. As a ruthless Chem-Baron from Zaun, she helps her teammates with dirty tricks and unethical plays.
