League of Legends celebration stream and here’s absolutely everything that you may have missed.

Solidifying their dominant presence in the video game industry, Riot Games put forth a slew of major announcements on October 15 throughout the League 10 stream. 

From a fully-fledged animated series, to a plethora of entirely new games, here’s a complete list of everything that was announced.

10 days of rewards

As a thank you from Riot Games to the dedicated community, all accounts registered prior to the October 15 broadcast will be receiving a slew of new gifts.

For ten days starting October 17, players will receive an in-game item every day that they log in and play a single match. The rewards include a plethora of various in-game items and a tenth anniversary Annie skin.

Rise of the Elements

Summoner’s Rift will be undergoing a great deal of change in the 2020 preseason. One of the most significant details from the broadcast was the introduction of elemental rifts. “As teams take down elemental drakes, one element will eventually dominate the rift, permanently altering the map” according to League of Legends EP, Jessica Nam.

Infernal will knock down walls and burn brush around the map, Mountain will add new terrain, Ocean will make the brush grow larger and spawn extra Honeyfruit across the jungle, while Cloud will create wind tunnels with extra movement speed. 

Summoner’s Rift is also seeing a few minor tweaks, meaning that with all of the latest announcements, no two games should ever feel identical. These changes will come into effect on October 22 on the Public Beta Environment before making their way to the live servers on November 20.

Senna announced as new Champion

Senna was announced as the very first marksman support champion in the history of League of Legends. 

In a brand new cinematic trailer, Senna was finally released from containment inside Thresh’s lantern. The wife of Lucian will first be playable on the Public Beta Environment from October 29 before transitioning to the live server on November 10.

Teamfight Tactics update and mobile support

The remarkably popular League of Legends mode, Teamfight Tactics, will soon be playable on mobile devices around the world.

Teamfight Tactics on mobile will feature full cross-platform play with the PC version, allowing friends to compete across devices. The full release will be coming at an undisclosed point in time throughout 2020 but a handful of early betas will be starting up as soon as December 2019.

Additionally, Riot announced rotating seasonal sets, more arenas, new units, and more content that will be coming to the title in the near future.

Wild Rift releasing on consoles and mobile

League of Legends fans have long been clamoring for a mobile port of the popular MOBA and Riot Games finally showcased exactly what that will look like.

Titled ‘Wild Rift,’ this new project coming soon to mobile and console platforms, is not a direct port of League of Legends but rather a fresh competitive experience. 

Alpha and Beta tests will be ongoing towards the end of 2019 in select regions, with worldwide support expected by the end of 2020. Players can pre-register on the Google Play and iOS app stores today.

A new Collectible Card Game, Legends of Runeterra 

Announcing their expansion into the collectable card game space, Riot revealed the first proper look at Legends of Runeterra.

“In Legends of Runeterra you will never pay for randomized packs,” as developers explained throughout the broadcast. Every card and character comes from a unique region of Runeterra, with each region featuring its own unique playstyle and tactics.

Fighting game (Project L)

Among the many announcements, Riot Games briefly touched on the formerly announced fighting game, codenamed Project L. 

Brief glimpses of gameplay display League of Legends champions in the midst of combat from a brand new perspective.

Despite having been in development and kept under wraps for quite some time, developers assured fans that the project would once again be going dark but that it will be properly promoted when the time is right.

First Person Shooter (Project A)

In a shock announcement, CS:GO and Overwatch.

With precision aim being of utmost importance, various hero abilities were also featured throughout the brief gameplay demonstration, crossing the lines between a pure FPS experience and a hero-based shooter.

Prioritizing the fundamentals that popularized the genre, Riot looks to put their fresh spin on a classic formula.

League of Legends Arcane animated series

The broadcast ended with a tease of League of Legends Arcane, a brand new anime series set in the LoL universe.

Featuring a broad array of popular champions, the series is set to launch in 2020. According to the YouTube description, the narrative of the series will focus on “the origins of two iconic League champions—and the power that will tear them apart.”

League of Legends Origins documentary

League of Legends Origins is a brand new documentary from Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Leslie Iwerks. 

Available now on Netflix and various streaming services, the documentary looks back at the historic rise of the popular MOBA title, from early development through to the grandest stages in the history of esports.

League of Legends Esports Manager

League of Legends Esports Manager is a brand new title set to launch in 2020 that allows fans to create their own LoL esports teams and assume the role of manager.

The game will launch in the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) region next year and soon expand into a global release.
