LoL 2024 rostermania: LCS & LEC roster changes

LCS LEC rostermaniaReece Martinez/Riot Games

The 2024 League of Legends regular season is underway, but roster news hasn’t stopped. With the LCS being thrown into chaos after news of league downsizing in 2025 and several LEC teams swapping out members, there’s a lot to catch up on for those just tuning in for Summer.

It’s been an interesting year for League of Legends pro play to say the least. Record-breaking Worlds 2023 viewership was immediately followed by the LCS cutting down the size of its league from 10 teams to 8, and then again down to 6 come 2025.

Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians are both out, and any players who had signed agreements with the teams at the start of 2024 were effectively let go.

However, it’s not all bad news for the LCS. The league got a new face in 2024 in the form of Shopify Rebellion, who acquired TSM’s spot in the league in a reported $10 million deal. That said, no team is safe, and Summer 2024 is one of the most important splits ever when it comes to showing what your organization is capable of.

The LEC, meanwhile, is business as usual for the most part. They had a great deal of off-season roster moves that saw Korean imports take up spots on teams like SK, GIANTX, and KCorp, but the LEC is slated to stick with 10 teams despite downsizing in other leagues.

Below is every roster change that led to the 2024 rosters we have, as well as every change that’s happened since 2024’s LoL competitive year kicked off.
