Misfits support player Mihael ‘Mikyx’ Mehle has reportedly accepted a deal to join G2 Esports for the 2019 LEC season, according to reports from VPEsports and ESPN.
After a rollercoaster 2018 with Misfits, it appears that Mikyx’s standout individual performances have attracted the attention of LEC rivals, ahead of the first spring split of the newly franchised European league.
ESPN’s Jacob Wolf first reported on G2’s interest in the Slovenian support player on November 20, as his contract with Misfits expired on Monday, November 19.
On November 24, VPEsports claim that Mikyx has agreed to the move according to sources, which ESPN later confirmed.
The engage support player is expected to replace Kim ‘Wadid’ Bae-In in a similar role, with the Korean’s next move unclear.

Mikyx found success with the Fnatic team in 2016, winning the European qualifier for the World Championship, and despite a poor performance at Worlds, has been on the radar of G2 for sometime.
Misfits already secured top laner Paul ‘sOAZ’ Boyer from Fnatic and Clutch Gaming mid-laner Fabian ‘Febiven’ Diepstraten, and confirmed the signing of support Kang ‘GorillA’ Beom-hyeon to round out the roster.
ESPN report that G2 have already further bolstered their lineup with the addition of mid laner Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther from Fnatic.
The Spring split of the first LEC season begins on January 19, 2019, where the top European teams will be able to put their new rosters to the test.
