True Damage has long been rumored to be Riot’s next musical project, and on October 28 it was officially confirmed the hip-hop group existed, and would be helmed behind-the-scenes by Becky G, Keke Palmer, Thutmose, DUCKWRTH and returning K-Pop star Soyeon of (G)l-DLE.
Now fans have been given their first peek at what the five members of the group in a new teaser video, along with a short snippet of the band’s debut track “GIANTS,” as well as an in-universe explanation for how the rising stars first joined into the five-piece act.
“Virtual hip-hop group True Damage was born when K/DA’s lead rapper Akali sought to bring together the distinct talents of Ekko, Senna, Qiyana, and Yasuo in an ambitious, genre-defying collaboration,” the teaser video’s description read.
K/DA superstar Akali, whose character was a massive hit in the POP/STARS music video for her bold and bright costumes, lyrics, and spray paint, also commented on the formation of the group, and her own personal projects.
