Yiliang ‘Doublelift’ Peng has branded LCS professional players “boring” and says they need to become more controversial in order to get more people watching League of Legends.

The Team Liquid botlaner, who has the most pentakills than any other player at competitive level, shared his brutal verdict on players while streaming ahead of the next round of League of Legends Championship Series fixtures.

Voicing his frustrations during a recent Twitch livestream, he explained how players are more interested in training – or talking about training – than interacting with fans.

Riot GamesDoubelift has pleaded for LCS players to become more interesting.

League of Legends pro players are in the middle of the LCS Spring Split right now and Doublelift seems to think that there’s a lack of personality among the top tier teams.

“Say something exciting because LCS is so boring if you say nothing,” he said. “Everyone in every interview I’ve seen says the same thing: ‘Oh, I’m trying my best. Oh, we’re practising super hard. No one is going to cheer for you or your team if you don’t say anything interesting, ever.”

League of Legends competitions led the way in terms of most watched esports events in 2018 and Doublelift seems to enjoy the level of interaction that comes with the popularity.

“I have absolutely no problem by the way,” he said, talking about his own situation. “I’m not saying that I’m upset or anything about the backlash because I think it’s fucking cool that I talk shit and people like TSM (Team Solo Mid) fans get super riled up and Team Liquid fans are defending me and they’re arguing about ‘oh man, like should double talk shit?’
