The League of Legends pro community has a strong track record for stunning cosplays, but C9 left viewers speechless after they donned full makeup and wigs to transform into the pop sensations.
In partnership with team sponsor HyperX, almost every member of the starting squad from top lane rising star Eric ‘Licorice’ Ritchie to support Tristan ‘Zeyzal’ Stidam went under the brush to transform into a popular champion.

C9’s rising (pop) stars cosplay
Licorice and Zeyzal were the first ones to step up to the makeup artists’ chairs. After about “an hour” of sitting and tons of friendly banter from teammates Yasin ‘Nisqy’ Dinçer and Dennis ‘Svenskeren’ Johnsen, the two finally saw the final product in its entire glory.

Although Zeyzal’s beard for his Kai’sa cosplay wasn’t exactly fitting, the purple with accompanying makeup was a hit with the rest of his team.
Licorice couldn’t contain himself when he saw his pink wig with matching eye shadow that was used to bring out his inner Evelynn in the cosplay.

C9 veterans complete the group cosplay
With half of the ensemble out of the way, Zachary ‘Sneaky’ Scuderi was up next followed by a hesitant Svenskeren.
Since Sven was taking the mantle of Ahri, he was given the customary ears of the Nine-tailed Fox to round out his cosplay.
Cosplay pro Sneaky was given a couple more accessories since he was cosplaying as Akali who traditionally has a mask over her face and a cap with her K/DA form.
There were tons of smiles to go around the C9 team, except for Svenskeren who was probably glad the shoot was over and gave firm answer when asking if he would cosplay Ahri again, saying with a smile: “No, I would never do it again.”
