How to watch Red Bull Rise Till Dawn Halo 3 tournament July 13 – Streams and schedule

Red Bull is bringing back their Rise Till Dawn event on Saturday, July 13 for a Halo 3 throwback tournament, with a $10,000 grand prize on the line – here’s how you can catch all the action.

Rise Till Dawn takes its name literally, as the competitors will be playing through the night, ‘from sundown to sunrise’, from the Willis Tower in Chicago.

Last year’s Rise Till Dawn tournament was headlined by streamer Tyler ‘Fortnite took over the 99th floor of the Willis Tower, but just in time for Halo Infinite, the legendary Halo 3 is the game of choice for the 2019 event.

The Willis Tower – 2nd tallest building in the US – will host the Rise Till Dawn Halo event, on the 99th floor.

Where to watch Red Bull Rise Till Dawn Halo 3 tournament

The tournament will begin at dusk, quite literally – expected to be around 8:30pm local time (6:30PM PT / 9:30PM ET / 2:30AM BST). In-keeping with the name, the tournament won’t stop until sunrise – approximately 5:28AM CT.

To match the prestige of the classic game, some legendary names will be on screen too, with David ‘Walshy’ Walsh casting, alongside Tom ‘Tsquared’ Taylor, Andy ‘Bravo’ Dudynsky, Kyle ‘Elamite’ Elam and Jon ‘Fallout’ Kefaloukos.

Developer’s 343 Industries are partnered with the event, through their grassroots program, which was launched in November 2018 to support the Halo community directly, working with tournament operators and content creators.

What’s the format?

The Halo 3 tournament is a 2v2 event, with a total of 200 players competing in a Swiss-style group stage. All matches are best of one’s of Team Slayer, with points earned per win. 

The top two from each group advance to the bracket, where best of three matches will determine the eventual winning duo.

First place at the event will net themselves $5,000 to split between the duo, with $3,500 for second and $1,000 for third.

The full list of participants is not yet available, but we imagine some seasoned players will be in attendance at the Chicago event.
