Halo: The Master Chief Collection is finally headed to PC and the first beta period has kicked off. Here’s how you can participate.
Halo has long been just a console series but Microsoft and 343 Industries are trying to transition to a new audience, and that’s all starting with the port of the MCC to PC.
They have been teasing flights, which are short test periods designed to give players a taste of what to expect, along with seeing how the servers can handle things.
Halo: Reach is the first game in the collection coming to PC.
When is the beta?
The first test period begins today, June 28, and runs until July 1, giving players the weekend to check out how Halo: Reach looks and feels on PC.
However, this first beta only includes a single campaign mission from Reach, so you won’t be able to play against other players or anything of that sort.

How to join
To join in any of the flights, players have to register an email with Halo Insider. Emails have been sent so you’ll have to check and see if you’ve gotten one.
The first flight only features less than 1,000 players, so chances are high that you’ve missed out this time. If you were selected, you’ll have two emails – one for the invitation and one for the Steam key.
Halo: Infinite is coming to PC when it launches.
What happens if you weren’t picked?
More flights are being held in the future, including ones for every title after Reach, so there are plenty more opportunities for you to get involved.
In the meantime, just make sure you’re signed up and hope for an email the next time flighting begins.
