Rockstar Games have released a statement that Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption 2 players will be interested in, with the development team deciding to work more from home for the foreseeable.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has forced a number of companies, not just in the world of gaming, to have its staff work remotely rather than in their usual office space – with Rockstar, CD Projekt Red and others taking the decision to change their way of operating.
With many players also spending more time at home, particularly those who have been encouraged to self-isolate or adopt social distancing methods in their daily lives, there might have been some fears among the communities Rockstar Games have created that the stream of content for such games could soon cease.
However, the Rockstar team posted a message to social media on March 17 to reassure fans that their work is going to go on – as planned – for not just GTA Online, but also Red Dead Online too.
The official statement reads: “We are doing everything we can to ensure that our games are up and running for you as we are now all spending a little extra time at home. To that end, we will be maintaining our regularly weekly programming schedule, bust stay tuned for more events and activities inside GTA Online and Red Dead Online to help keep things fresh and fun for our community.”

Many hopeful fans will also be hoping that a Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal trailer, or something along those lines, is in the works. However, there has been no official word on the next GTA game, despite numerous apparent leaks and rumors suggesting work for it is well underway.
With so much uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus crisis, it’s good to see one of the industry’s major players committing to make sure those spending more time at home will have new content to play through.
