The Genshin Impact community is losing it over HoYoverse’s official reveal of baby Ganyu, with many noting how “adorable” her design is.
Ever since Ganyu was released back in 1.2, the Genshin Impact community has been curious to see what the half-qilin Adeptus looked like when she was younger.
After all, the Cryo character has often expressed deep embarrassment over Cloud Retainer’s stories, which depicted the Plenilune Gaze as being both “cute” and “plump.”
Well, after three years of waiting, HoYoverse has finally revealed the game’s official artwork of baby Ganyu, and Genshin Impact fans around the world are losing their minds.
Genshin Impact players are losing it over “adorable” baby Ganyu reveal
Genshin Impact fans from around the world have taken to social media to express their love for HoYoversee’s baby Ganyu artwork. The pint-sized Cryo character was shown during the Xianyun reveal trailer, which gave fans an early look into Ganyu’s past.
It’s here where fans get to see Ganyu as a child walking around with Cloud Retainer (Xianyun). The Adepti raised Ganyu and made all kinds of toys for her, which were often too advanced for her to understand.

Shenhe and Zhongli also make an appearance during the trailer, but it’s baby Ganyu who has seemingly stolen the show.
“Baby Ganyu is still not quite chunky here as the stories said she was, but still cute nonetheless,” noted one player. Others also joked that the trailer neglects how Ganyu accidentally choked a giant monster to death during the Archon War after it tried to eat her.
“We’re missing out on Peak Performance Ganyu. Rolling like a ball and choking monsters with her sheer rotundness,” replied another player.
The Genshin Impact community also believes they have spotted an Easter Egg, with many noting how it appears Baby Ganyu has a tail.
“Omg I think you’re on to something. I thought that fluffy bit behind her was her hair in the first slide, but it doesn’t have the same color as the hair on her head, nor is it drawn with the same texture,” explained one eagle-eyed fan. “It more resembles her mother’s Qilin form that we’ve seen in similar style cutscenes.”
