Fable Esports European roster have won the second open event in EU of the 2018 season, with victory over Spanish side Lucent Esports in the grand final.
The event had a handful of top teams in attendance, including Fable’s ‘Sentinel’ Roster, Cyclone and Regal Reserve.
With $20,000 on the line, it was also a big opportunity for a number of upcoming amateur players to prove themselves on the stage with big money to play for.
Fable were the obvious favorites coming off their win at EGL Sheffield, as well as a strong run of first place finishes in the online EU 2K tournaments.

Fable were gunning for their third successive EGL win, and looked peerless throughout not dropping a map through their winner’s bracket run to the grand final.
There they faced a tough battle against Lucent, but still looked the far more comfortable team, making it three successive European tournament wins – without dropping a map.
Congratulations to @FableGG who are your @EsportsGears EGL Open – London Champions!
That’s now three EU tournament wins without dropping a single map, best of luck in New Orleans!@MCrimsons @Marshkage @KrazedM @Hydrone_ @Phelpzyy! #EGLGears pic.twitter.com/rTtPAylXfx
