When’s the next Disney Dreamlight Valley update? Release date, roadmap

Disney Dreamlight Valley is constantly bringing new updates with added characters, recipes, and so much more, but the dates can be tricky to find.

Over the last year, Disney Dreamlight Valley fans have enjoyed a lot of great content, including new recipes, Realms, characters, and Star Paths. This new content is what keeps the playerbase coming back for more.

Thankfully, Gameloft are relatively open with its updates, meaning there’s plenty to look forward to. However, one thing that can be hard to find is when the next update will arrive. So, here’s everything we know about the next Disney Dreamlight Valley update, including when it will be released and what content you can expect.

When is Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next update?

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next update will be released in October 2024.

The Dapper Delights Star Path ends on October 1 and Gameloft always gives players at least a week or two between the end of a Star Path and the beginning of the next. That means we expect the next update will release in early to mid-October, with October 9 being the earliest possible date.

August 2024’s Dapper Delights update added Tiana to the Valley along with the final act of the A Rift in Time expansion, allowing those with the DLC to also unlock Jafar as a Villager.

In addition to the new characters, it also introduced a 1920s-themed Star Path and various quality-of-life improvements.

Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap

As previously mentioned, Disney Dreamlight Valley is extremely open with its future update plans, meaning we have a handy roadmap to help highlight the upcoming characters, mysteries, Realms, and of course the future of the Rift in Time expansion.

Gameloft

In October 2024, we’ll be seeing Timon and Pumbaa arriving in the Valley through the Lion King Realm. As such, we can expect various new quests to arrive. Whether new grub-related recipes are added to the game is yet to be announced, but it’s always a possibility.

Beyond the new characters, the devs have said the October update will be “smaller in scope and shorter, with a focus on fixes and quality of life improvements to make your game experience smoother and more enjoyable as we ramp up to a bigger update later in the year.”

Then, in Late 2024, which we predict will be around December given the two month gap between most updates, we’ll likely be meeting Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The clues “stitch a new mystery together” and the image of Sally’s dress suggests she’ll be arriving and introducing a new questline filled with puzzles – but only time can tell.

Then, now we’ve had the August 2024 update for Eternity Isle, we’re not certain about the expansion’s future. Thankfully, the roadmap tells players to “Tune in for plenty more announcements coming later this year” suggesting there are exciting updates to come.

Gameloft revealed that they will provide more information in a Showcase Stream to announce the rest of the year’s content. This may include another expansion following the conclusion of A Rift in Time‘s story in August 2024.

• Expansion Pass Act III – August 21, 2024*: This update revealed the final act of the Rift in Time update, and introduced Jafar as an unlockable character.
• The Lucky Dragon – June 26, 2024: Mulan and Mushu joined through the Mulan Realm, bringing new quests, and a Mulan-themed Star Path.
• Thrills and Frills – May 1, 2024: Along with Daisy Duck and a Disney Parks Star Path, a new Boutique was added with a focus on creativity and friendship.
• Expansion Pass Act II – May 1, 2024*: The Spark of Imagination questline began, marking the second act, it also introduced Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
• The Laugh Floor – February 28, 2024: A new Realm introduced Monster’s Inc.’s Sulley and Mike with a new Lovely Monsters Star Path and a major update to Scrooge McDuck’s Shop.
• The Pumpkin King Returns – December 5, 2023: Jack Skellington returns to the Valley, bringing a Royal Winter Star Path, and the ability to add and remove Villagers.
• Expansion Pass Act I – December 5, 2023*: The first update for the expansion added Gaston, Eve, and Rapunzel to the Valley. As well as a variety of new quests, recipes, regions, resources, and more.
• Enchanted Adventure – September 13, 2023: Introducing Belle and Beast along with their Beauty and the Beast Realm, this update added a Haunted Holiday Star Path for Halloween.
• DreamSnaps – July 19, 2023: This update marked the addition of the DreamSnaps competition and the introduction of Vanellope.
• The Remembering – June 6, 2023: In the game’s fifth update, the Fairy Godmother made an appearance, as well as an addition to the game’s storyline, where you meet The Forgetting.
• Pride of the Valley – April 5, 2023: Along with the Lion King Realm, the likes of Simba and Nala were added to the game, as well as the first Disney Parks Star Path.
• A Festival of Friendship – February 16, 2023: This update introduced Olaf and Mirabel Madrigal, as well as the Mini-Casita. It also added Disney’s 100th anniversary Star Path and the Premium Shop.
• Missions in Uncharted Space – December 6, 2023: In the game’s second update, players could unlock Buzz and Woody in the Toy Story Realm, as well as an adorable Festive Star Path.
• Scar’s Kingdom – October 19, 2023: The game’s first major update added Scar to the Valley, as well as a brand new mine.
