Valorant players are desperate for the Riot devs to copy Counter-Strike’s classic casual mode.
Releasing back in 2020, Valorant certainly put a dent in the first-person shooter genre, and the game has only improved over time thanks to constant updates from Riot.
Since release, players have suggested a ton of different features to be added, such as the highly-requested replay mode, as well as many ideas from other games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
With that said, players now want a more “casual” game mode to play and are calling on the devs to take another idea from Valve’s Counter-Strike.
Valorant players want “casual” CS game mode
In a Reddit post on February 21, one Valorant player suggested that the devs take a page out of Valve’s book, and create a more casual mode for players to enjoy without needing to worry about being penalized if they need to leave the match.
“Why doesn’t this game have a casual mode like Counter Strike? I can join a game where it’s like 8v8 or 10v10 or something in Counter Strike. I can leave whenever I want and am not penalized for it,” they wrote.

The player added: “Why is there not a similar mode in Valorant? Where It’s more than 5v5 and people can come and go as they please? I’d play this game so much if there was a mode like that. But I find myself too scared to play this game.
In the replies, many supported the idea, explaining it’d be useful for players who can’t commit to a full-length match. Although, as many noted other game modes such as Spike Rush and Swift Play don’t last as long, offering a quicker way to get a few games in.
It isn’t the first time we’ve seen Valorant players want a feature from another game. The community has pleaded for several elements of Counter-Strike, one of the world’s biggest first-person shooters.
Notably, fans have asked the devs to copy numerous ideas from CS, such as the ability to let players take control of AFK teammates, and even take mechanics from the game and turn them into an Agent.
With that said, we’ll just have to wait and see if the devs take the suggestion on board in a future update.
