The June 2 State of Play gave fans a first look at Street Fighter 6’s gameplay, including reveals for new and returning fighters like Ryu and Chun-Li.
Following the excitement of Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 announcement in February, fans have been hungry to see the game in action.
Now, Capcom has shown off the first look of Street Fighter 6 in action at the June 2022 State of Play, and it looks cleaner and flashier than ever.
Fans were treated to a look at the game’s single-player ‘World Tour’ mode as well as over a minute of fighting between Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, and Street Fighter 6’s newest character.
Street Fighter 6 gameplay revealed
The trailer begins with a panoramic view of Metro City before heading into a gym to see Luke training on a punching bag. As Luke finishes wailing on the sandbag, fans get another view of what appears to be a sprawling city that players can explore.

Next, fans are shown series staples like Ryu and Chun-Li in action, along with Street Fighter 5’s newcomer Luke alongside an all-new character named Jamie.
Though we have only seen a bit of Jamie’s moveset, it looks like he has a heavy focus on kicks with an almost capoeira-like fighting style.
Next, fans are shown over a minute worth of Street Fighter 6’s new gameplay even showcasing what looks to be each of the four characters’ new supers.
The trailer ends with a tease of the game’s Battle Hub mode “which will further expand the scope of player communication and engagement.”
While no definitive release date was given, fans can look forward to Street Fighter 6’s launch sometime in 2023 on PS4 and PS5.
