Resident Evil 4 Remake release date revealed, and it’s sooner than you think

Sony has finally confirmed a Resident Evil 4 remake for PlayStation 5 that will take players back to one of the most iconic experiences in the franchise.

The company announced the long-awaited remake during the June 2 State of Play that showed off upgraded graphics to the survival horror shooter. What’s more, Capcom will even have PSVR 2 content available for players to have new ways of interacting with the classic title.

Capcom has already ported the title to almost every platform under the sun, but this time it’s going to be an upgraded remake for next-gen consoles.

But the devs want to give the game a “fresh feeling” to Leon’s solo campaign by “reimagining the storyline” while staying true to the game’s overall direction.

Resident Evil 4 remake release date

The Resident Evil 4 remake is scheduled to release on March 24, 2023, so players won’t have to wait long before they can explore the rural regions of Spain once again.

The rumors of a new RE4 have been floating around for a while, so Capcom made sure to give eager fans a quick turnaround for the remake.

Resident Evil 4 new features

Along with the graphical makeover and little tidbits that Capcom will add to the RE4 remake, the studio also revealed PSVR 2 content is in development.

A RE4 port for Meta Quest headsets launched on October 21 and it seems as though the devs will capitalize on that success with the upcoming remake.

Details of RE4’s VR content are scarce but Sony will reveal more details in the coming months leading up to launch.

This will give nostalgic fans plenty of RE4 content to go through once the remake lands on store shelves in 2023.
