Everything shown at PlayStation State of Play September 2022: Games and trailers

Sony has finally announced a date for its next PlayStation State of Play, which will stream live on September 13, 2022.

Because Sony has hosted a digital PlayStation event in September for the last couple of years, the expectation was that the trend would continue in 2022.

The publisher certainly has plenty to showcase, with God of War Ragnarok launching in November and the PlayStation VR2 set to launch next year.

Fortunately for fans of the brand, the wait for details about a new digital event is finally at an end.

Sony confirms a date and time for its September 2022 State of Play

According to PlayStation‘s official Twitter account, the next games showcase will go live on Tuesday, September 13 at 3:00 PM PT/11:00 PM BST. (Yes, the same day as the upcoming Nintendo Direct.)

The stream will last approximately 20 minutes in length, just enough time for Sony to show off no less than “10 upcoming games.”

In a PlayStation Blog post, the company noted the show will feature updates from its Japanese partners, alongside “a few other surprises” from development teams around the world.

What was shown at PlayStation State of Play?

The latest State of Play included new footage for smaller games such as Like a Dragon: Ishin, Rise of the Ronin, Synduality, Demeo, Stellar Blade, and Pacific Drive.

There were also announcements of bigger games, with Star Wars Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition coming to PlayStation VR.

Hogwarts Legacy also got a brand new trailer, which showed off new information about Hogsmeade and teased some of the enemies players might face. The State of Play also confirmed certain PlayStation exclusives will be coming with Hogwarts Legacy.

Players finally got a more in-depth look at the story of God of War: Ragnarok with a brand-new trailer that showcased some incredible dialogue and teased a fight between Kratos and Thor.

But the biggest reveal of the show was the confirmation that Tekken 8 will be releasing on the PlayStation consoles. Though no release date has been confirmed, the State of Play did show off a new trailer highlighting what fighting game players can expect.
