MultiVersus Season 1 release date
MultiVersus Season 1 was hit by some delays, thereby no longer standing on the original August 9 release date. The official MultiVersus Season 1 release date is on August 15, 2022.
According to MultiVersus’ Twitter, “everything we are bringing to you in Season 1 will not drop on the same day. New modes and content will be spread through the life of the Season.”
New characters in MultiVersus Season 1
As of now, the only officially revealed characters for Season 1 are both Rick and Morty. Considering the two always go hand in hand in their animated adventures, it makes sense that they would both be added to the roster in the same season.
In addition, datamines revealed Raven from Teen Titans having a unique voice line, talking to Eleven from Stranger Things. Therefore, these two characters may potentially launch on MultiVersus as well. But take the information with a grain of salt, since this isn’t from an official source.
MultiVersus Morty Release Date
The new character doesn’t join the game immediately when Season 1 starts. According to the official Twitter account, MultiVersus Morty Release Date is on August 23 — a solid week after MultiVersus Season 1 goes live.
Morty will be characterized as an “expert” level — thereby MultiVersus Morty cost will be high.

New modes in MultiVersus Season 1
During EVO 2022, the official MultiVersus Twitter revealed a snapshot of its Season 1 content, including two new modes coming to the game.
First, MultiVersus teased a ‘Classic Arcade Mode’ which showed four different characters duking it out.
Finally, the image teased a Ranked Mode coming in Season 1. Though the Open Beta currently places fighters in matches based on MMR, an official Ranked Mode has been a highly requested feature.
While details about these two modes remain scarce at the time of writing, the tweet mentioned that an official announcement date would be “coming very soon.”
MultiVersus Season 1 battle pass
After August 15, the preseason battle pass expires, making way for the new MultiVersus Season 1 Battle Pass. According to the MultiVersus game director, it’ll have 50 tiers — which is 35 more than the current 15 tiers. This makes for more rewards, but comes at a price.
The current Battle Pass costs 300 Gleamium, while the new MultiVersus Season 1 Battle Pass will cost 950 Gleamium. These do cost real money in the forms of microtransactions, so be aware when purchasing.
MultiVersus Season 1 will also undoubtably come with a wave of new balance changes. Although information regarding the specific balance patch notes haven’t revealed, expect updates targeting the most broken characters, alongside bug fixes.
We’ll keep this piece updated with all the latest information on MultiVersus Season 1 as it’s made public.
