Insomniac Games’ upcoming Wolverine PS5 game has just been hit with a huge wave of leaks, with ransomware hackers revealing gameplay footage, the full cast, and more.
Insomniac Games has just been the victim of a massive ransomware attack with footage and plot details for their next big project, Wolverine, being shared online.
The devs have found themselves on the resurgence after finding massive success with their recent Spider-Man games. Set to follow this year’s Spider-Man 2, we knew a Wolverine project was in the works, however, beyond a brief teaser trailer, not much had been revealed or shown about the upcoming game.
That is until this news surfaced online on December 18, 2023, via a ransomware group trying to extort money from Insomniac. Cyberdaily (via IGN) reported comments from the group, called Rhysidia, which said: “Yes, we knew who we were attacking. We knew that developers making games like this would be an easy target. We were able to get the domain administrator within 20–25 minutes of hacking the network.”
The group also confirmed they were solely concerned about financial gain.

Wolverine details are out there so be warned
The leak included over 1.5 terabytes of information, including incomplete gameplay footage, details about the story, characters, and voice cast, as well as admin documents about Insomniac and employees.
It was revealed that the game was internally aiming for a 2026 release, which is likely later than most would be hoping. However, it’s not clear if this leak could affect the release date further, which is a distinct possibility. Unsurprisingly, there are also plans for the game to lead into the bigger Marvel’s Spider-Man story, and the broader Marvel universe even more.
We know from the information that Wolverine will travel to various countries with playable areas throughout the game, and it will be a third-person action game. We will not be revealing further information about the leak or its contents in this story.
