Job listings for what sounds like Ghost of Tsushima 2 suggest the original games’ Legends multiplayer suite will return in the eventual follow-up.
Though developer Sucker Punch and publisher Sony have yet to formally announce a sequel for the PS4 exclusive, there’s plenty to indicate a second Ghost of Tsushima adventure is in the works.
A job posting in October 2020 for a Narrative Writer offered the first clue that Sucker Punch had bigger plans for the Feudal Japan-set franchise.
While Ghost of Tsushima’s Iki Island expansion may have been the reason for such a hire, several other updates to Sucker Punch’s “Careers” page hint at the development of a proper sequel.
Ghost of Tsushima 2 could feature multiplayer
For the umpteenth time in the last 18 months or so, Sucker Punch Productions has added fresh job openings to its official “Careers” page. Notably, many of the listings point to the studio working on Ghost of Tsushima 2.
For example, the responsibilities of the Encounter Designer include delivering “varied encounters in an open-world game, with a particular focus on melee combat and stealth.” The Bellevue, Washington-based crew is also looking to hire multiplayer designers.

Whoever the team brings in as its new Senior Multiplayer Systems Designer will help develop “challenging combat encounters and cooperative mechanics.”
Meanwhile, Sucker Punch will task the Senior Multiplayer Mission Designer with building robust and replayable online missions.
With all of the above in mind, reason suggests the still-unannounced Ghost of Tsushima 2 could launch with the Legends multiplayer mode in tow.
The original game’s online offering became available for free several months after launch. Sony and Sucker Punch has since released the co-op expansion as a standalone experience, complete with cross-play and cross-progression options.
