It’s become the most exciting day on the calendar for gamers around the globe. Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards has blossomed into a major event full of praise for a year’s best accomplishments, along with huge reveals for what’s coming next.
Millions tune in every year for the blockbuster announcements, and rumors surrounding this year’s show painted it as one of the most important in quite some time. It’s safe to say now, those rumors held true.

The Game Awards 2024 announcements
Ninja Gaiden Ragebound
From the creators of Blasphemous comes Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, a punishing sidescroller that looks to merge classic visuals with modern game mechanics.
One Move Away
It wouldn’t be a proper Game Awards without a new cozy game reveal and One Move Away ticks that box for us this year
Slay The Spire 2
Roguelike TCG Slay the Spire set the gaming industry ablaze in 2017 and here, we got a first look at gameplay for its sequel, Slay the Spire 2, coming to Steam in early access in 2025. While you wait, you can check out seven great games like Slay The Spire you can play.
Dave the Diver in the Jungle
Dave the Diver is continuing to get new content and next up, here’s heading into a mysterious jungle, seemingly on foot.
Thick as Thieves
Legendary game dev, Warren Spector, the man behind the Deus Ex series, is back in form with Thick as Thieves, a new multiplayer-focused title coming to all major platforms in 2025.
Shadow Labyrinth
Up next we saw a mysterious new sidescroller from Bandai Namco, one that takes Pac-Man into a more adult-focused game as your violent, all-consuming companion.
Steel Paws
An adorable-looking mobile game came next, published by Netflix Games.
Tales of the Shire
Tales of the Shire got a new trailer reminding everyone of the March 25, 2025 release date, though nothing particularly new was shown off here.
Midnight Murder Club
Similar to Among Us, Midnight Murder Club brings a stylish flair to the assassin-style game.
Kyora
From the creators of Core Keeper comes Kyora, a charming sidescroller with plenty of building elements in the same vein as Terraria.
Rematch
The dev team behind Sifu, the incredibly challenging melee-focused game, comes a remarkable pivot. Rematch is an online football game coming in 2025.
Solastia 2
Also launching in early access in 2025 is Solastia 2, a tactical adventure with an emphasis on online play.
The Witcher 4
Kicking off the main show with a bang, CD Projekt revealed a new cinematic for The Witcher 4 that was so advanced it was rendered on an announced NVIDIA GPU. This first glimpse gave us a look at a more mature Ciri in action, who just so happens to be the protagonist this time around. Though we did hear Geralt’s voice at the very end.
Elden Ring: Nightreign
Elden Ring is back! A full-fledged standalone game, Nightreign, was unveiled at the start of the 2024 Game Awards, surprising everyone. This time around, players are dropped into a cooperative experience, but it appears to be a whole new map, with a separate story, and of course, tons of new bosses. It’s set to arrive sometime in 2025.
Unannounced game from legendary Fumito Ueda
From the mind behind Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and Last Guardian, legendary Japanese dev Fumito Ueda is back with another larger-than-life project. Set in an ominous future, our first look at gameplay revealed familiar climbing mechanics, as our protagonist scaled a giant machine before taking off into the atmosphere.
The Outer Worlds 2 gameplay
Poking fun at the shortcomings of the original game, Obsidian revealed a new look at The Outer Worlds 2, showing off a good chunk of gameplay for the first time. It’s set to arrive in 2025, hot on the heels of Avowed in February.
Split Fiction
From the developers of It Takes Two comes Split Fiction, another daring split-screen co-op game with a huge emphasis on variety. Each level brings its own unique mechanics and gameplay twists to keep things fresh.
Steel Hunters
A playtest is already available for Steel Hunters, a new multiplayer game in the same vein as Transformers, with all the giant robots and destruction you could ask for.
Blackfrost: The Long Dark 2
Next came a mysterious indie game set in a dystopic future. Little was revealed about this game beyond its early access 2026 target.
Borderlands 4 gameplay
Borderlands 4 gameplay was shown for the very first time during the 2024 Game Awards and of course, it looks as insane as you’d expect. Plenty of loot, plenty of explosions, and everything in between.
Splitgate 2
Splitage 2 got a new trailer during the show, highlighting a bit of portal-friendly gameplay for the upcoming multiplayer sequel ahead of its 2025 release.

New Virtua Fighter game announced
Fighting game fans are eating good as a brand new Virtua Fighter title was announced at the 2024 Game Awards.
Project Century from Yakuza devs
Yakuza devs are turning back the clock with a new open-world game set in 1915. Little was shown here as it’s still in early development, but fans can expect to see more in the near future. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will also release in February 2025.
Turok Origins
Next on display was Turok Origins, an online coop game set in the Turok universe.
New alien race finally comes to Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 just got a major update, surprise dropped during the 2024 Game Awards. Omens of Tyrany brings the highly anticipated third race to the game, giving players an entirely new threat to dispatch to protect democracy.
Warframe gets a big update
Warframe‘s next big update got in the spotlight during the 2024 Game Awards, confirming the 1999 content drop arrives imminently, on December 13, 2024.
Palworld Feybreak drops December 23
Despite the ongoing legal battle with Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, Palworld got a moment to shine during the 2024 Game Awards, revealing the next big update, Palworld Feybreak, is set to arrive on December 23.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

The First Berserker gets a new trailer
Just ahead of its March 28, 2025 release, The First Berserker got a new cinematic trailer to ramp up the excitement. This single-player Souls-like looks just as bloody and brutal as you’d expect.
Dying Light: The Beast
Dying Light fans got a new look at the next iteration of the series as devs premiered gameplay from The Beast spinoff.
Squid Game: Unleashed
There’s a Squid Game video game coming out on December 17, designed for handheld devices, the experience drops you into a series of deadly online challenges similar to those seen in the show. Call of Duty also brings a Squid Game collab in January 2025, not long after Season 2 arrives on December 26.
Stage Fright
From the team behind Overcooked comes a new cooperative game called Stage Fright, one that splits your screen in half as you venture through a spooky town.
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad
A new Game of Thrones project is in the works, but don’t get too excited. Kingsroad is a mobile game set between Season 4 and Season 5. Another prequel show also arrives in late 2025, so you can check out everything we know about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, based on the Dunk and Egg novellas.
Double Dragon Revive
We’re getting a new Double Dragon game! All these years later, the acclaimed brawler series is coming back into focus with Double Dragon Revive now confirmed to launch on October 23, 2025.
Screamer
A stylish new racing game is set to set the streets on fire in 2026. Little is known about this game for the time being.
The Last of Us Part 2 comes to PC on April 3, 2025
Naughty Dog’s logo flashed across the screen, but it wasn’t for a new game reveal. Instead, The Last of Us Part 2 is coming to PC on April 3, 2025.
Den of Wolves gameplay premiere
After an explosive reveal last year, we just got our first look at Den of Wolves gameplay during the 2024 Game Awards. From the creative force behind PayDay and GTFO, it’s very much an FPS Heist game, though this time with a Cyberpunk twist.
Sonic Racing Crossworlds
Yep, there’s a new Sonic racing game coming. That’s about all there is to this one, no gameplay or further details of any kind were revealed.
Dispatch
A hero down on his luck (Aaron Paul) gets put on dispatch duty, having to assign various heroes to jobs that need doing in the city, all in hopes it’ll get him back on the mean streets. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure-style game with a stacked cast from some former Telltale developers.
Okami Sequel
The penultimate announcement of the show was a surprise sequel to Okami, another beloved Japanese franchise. Not only that, Director Hideki Kamiya is back to take the reigns on this untitled sequel.
Naughty Dog’s new game revealed
Closing The Game Awards 2024 with the biggest bang possible, Naughty Dog’s new IP was finally revealed. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a sci-fi adventure game that’s been in development for a number of years already and will be scored by the legendary duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
