With Microsoft’s E3 2019 showcase in the past, all eyes now turn to Nintendo’s presentation. Fans know many new games will be revealed, but will they be announcing a new Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo’s E3 2019 presentation goes live on June 11 at 9am PT (12pm EST and 5pm BST). The showcase will provide 40 minutes of information about Nintendo Switch’s upcoming games, according to Nintendo’s Twitter.
E3 2019 Nintendo schedule
The contents of the presentation still remain unclear, but it does appear that the presentation will be software only.
The dedicated Nintendo E3 websites states: “Tune in on June 11 to get a sneak peek at upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch system!”
Further Pokemon Sword and Shield details were revealed at a special Pokemon Direct, which took place on June 5. Lots more information surrounding the game was shared including new gameplay footage, new Pokemon, and new features for the game.
Nintendo have confirmed that this year’s new Pokemon game will be playable at E3, giving trainers their first hands on experience with the game. More recently, the official Pokemon Twitter account has tweeted out a new Pokemon Sword and Shield tease. Whether this refers to more information or this is the time a demo will be playable is currently unknown.
Nintendo’s forthcoming games for 2019 include: Super Mario Maker 2, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Astral Chain, a remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age — Definitive Edition and Daemon X Machina.
Consequently, we can expect most of these, if not all, to feature in the Nintendo Direct E3 presentation. Super Mario Maker 2 and Animal Crossing are two of the more hyped releases but fans might be most eager for more Pokemon Sword and Shield information.

A new Nintendo Switch?
One of the more outlandish rumors leading up to E3 2019 has been the announcement of a new Nintendo Switch. Some of these rumors even suggested a Nintendo Switch 2 could be on the horizon.
However, the announcement of hardware related news seems unlikely. More so, the chances of a Nintendo Switch 2 unveiling are even less likely.
Nintendo President, Shuntaro Furukawa, told investors back in April that they have no plans to announce any new hardware at E3 2019. He also stated: “[We are] always working on new hardware and we will announce it when we are able to sell it.”
With the Nintendo Switch releasing in 2017, and still being in the middle of its life cycle, a brand new console would make little sense. However, despite Furukawa’s claims many gamers still believe a Nintendo Switch Lite could be announced at E3 2019.
The Lite version of the Switch would supposedly retail at a cheaper price of $199, removing docking compatibility and have attached joycons. Essentially, it would be a true handheld version of the Switch. Others disagree though, believing TV compatibility is a must in 2019.
We will have to wait until Nintendo’s showcase at E3 to find out more!
