Controller support can make things easier if you’re playing gacha games like Zenless Zone Zero on PC or mobile. Here’s everything you need to know about the feature in the latest HoYoverse release.
Like HoYoverse’s previous games, Genshin Impact, and Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero includes a large character roster, banner system, and exciting combat.
The game is available on PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and using a controller can make for a much smoother experience if you’re playing on PC or mobile.
How to use a controller in Zenless Zone Zero on PC & mobile
Zenless Zone Zero features native controller support which means the game will automatically assign the button layout of your controller to the game’s controls once it’s connected to your device.
Controller support on PC
Just like with Honkai Star Rail, the method of connecting your controller to your chosen device will differ depending on the controller type.
If you’re using a wired controller, simply plug it into your PC with a USB cable, navigate to the ‘options’ menu and the ‘Input‘ tab in Zenless Zone Zero, and change the UI layout to ‘Controller’ instead of ‘Keyboard & Mouse.’

For wireless controllers, ensure your PC’s Bluetooth is enabled and it should detect your device once your controller is turned on. Then you’ll just have to change the UI layout as mentioned above.
Controller support on mobile
On mobile devices, you can use a wired controller by connecting it to your device via a USB-C to USB-C Data Cable. Then change your UI-Layout settings to ‘Controller’ instead of ‘Touch.‘
If you’re using a Bluetooth controller, ensure your Bluetooth is enabled for both devices. Select your controller from the list of pairable devices. Once they’re working together, just change your Layout settings as mentioned above.
The mobile version of the game currently officially supports the following controllers:
- PS5 DualSense
- PS4 DualShock 4
- Xbox One controller
- Xbox Series S/X controller
