When does Fortnite Winterfest start? Dates, Christmas challenges & more

Epic Games

Epic Games are throwing another holiday celebration inside Fortnite with their Winterfest event. With it just around the corner, here’s what you need to know.

The developers of the uber-popular free-to-play battle royale have been able to keep the fanbase growing and growing with their constant updates and bringing the real world to Fortnite.

Back in season seven, the introduced their first round of winter holiday celebrations, adding an arctic-themed biome to the south-west of the map, subsequently covering the map in snow for a few, and adding a number of limited-time modes in what was called the 14 Days of Fortnite. Now, they’re taking things one step further with Fortnite Chapter 2 by introducing Winterfest.

Fortnite Winterfest start date

Winterfest will be Chapter 2’s answer to the 14 Days of Fortnite with a few changes to keep in-tune with the new season. According to data miner KrispyLeaks, the holiday celebration will kick off on Tuesday, December 17 and run until Monday, January 6, 2020.

That date is obviously longer than the original 14 days, so you won’t be racing against the clock to get the challenges done. There’s a more leisurely pace to things this around.

These Winterfest challenges, where only one is currently unknown, will require looting some stockings, getting warm by a cozy fire, and channeling your inner Grinch to hand out some lumps of coal.

A wide range of winter-themed cosmetics – including Wraps, Music Pack, Sprays, a Glider, Back Blings, Pickaxes, and a Contrail – will be up for grabs during the campaign though, so it will be worth your while.
