Ninja gives epic rant on why bots should be removed from Fortnite

Mixer streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins went on a hilarious rant regarding bots and their position in Fortnite Chapter 2, calling for Epic Games to remove them from their popular battle royale.

Fortnite Chapter 2 saw the introduction of bots, both to fill up lobbies with the maximum number of people and to help newer, less-experienced players learn the basics of the game against some easy-to-kill enemies.

However, there have been mixed responses from the competitive and streaming communities. Many feel that bots are unnecessary and simply enable players to get a few extra kills per game, for no tangible reason or reward.

Epic GamesBots have been criticized for being ‘too easy’.

Blevins has often been a proponent of Epic Games’ actions, even when they have made some less popular decisions. He has even criticized Tfue for being overly-critical of Fortnite, encouraging him to go and play other games.

However, while live on November 8, the Mixer star became frustrated with bots and lashed out at them in an incredible rant.

Playing with long-time duo Reverse2K, Ninja finds himself in the middle of numerous gunfights while in Salty Springs. He tries to split up his enemies to make them more manageable and knocks one before adjusting his position.

As he does, a bot comes up and distracts him from the real opponent he was fighting, causing him to get eliminated. “Get the bots out of the game!” he shouts. “Look at that idiot! I turn around and I see him first and I cracked him for 12, it’s like I would have killed the guy!”

“What’s he doing?!” Ninja exclaims. He then launches into a bizarre impression of the bots, throwing his arms around and making zombie-esque noises.

“Truly, that might have been one of the most annoying bot experiences I’ve ever had!” he finishes. “We’re okay, I’ve just never been effed over by a bot in this game before. It looked like they were teaming! He basically tanked 20 damage for his homie… get the bots out of our game, we are professional players! I don’t need my stats padding!”

Epic GamesMECHs were also introduced in order to make the game easier for new players.

Ninja’s opinion is one shared by many pros, but Epic have been known in the past to make wide-scale changes based on making the game easier for beginners.

It was the main reason MECHs remained in the game throughout Season 10, despite their overwhelmingly negative reception.

It seems unlikely we’ll see a complete removal of bots from Fortnite Chapter 2, but there is potential for adjustments to their spawn rates, particularly in higher skill matches, like those Ninja will be playing in.
