NICKMERCS shows why Fortnite Battle Royale’s Combat Shotgun is broken

Popularv9.00 patch, giving fans a way to represent the popular movie franchise John Wick in-game with a signature weapon from the series in rare, epic, and legendary forms.

However, its inclusion in Fortnite Battle Royale hasn’t been without issues. Players have complained about bugs when reloading, its supposed inaccuracy, while others just want the pump shotgun to return. Yet, NICKMERCS was able to showcase just why the gun, in its current form, might well be completely broken.

During his May 19 stream, the 100 Thieves star was messing around in the Wick’s Bounty limited-time mode, where every player drops in with the Combat Shotgun and new Tactical Assualt Rifle.

After taking out some enemies at close range, NICKMERCS decided to give it a spin at a distance – taking pot shots at one unfortunate soul who happened to get caught in the crossfire. Yet, the streamer couldn’t believe what he was seeing as he began racking up hits and significant damage from ranges he probably shouldn’t be able to do so.

“Bro, no bullshit. What is this gun?” he asked, after appearing to be able to knock out the player from at least 100 meters away.

It wasn’t the only example that NICKMERCS had to show just how ‘broken’ the gun currently is, though. After eliminating one player, he turned his attention to another – who also happened to be a significant distance away.

The 100 Thieves star begun nailing shots on them too, even though it didn’t do the same amount of damage as his previous elimination.

Will Epic nerf the Combat Shotgun?

Considering the weapon is so new to the game, it’s probably unlikely that Epic Games will spring into action to make a change so soon after its arrival.

That’s not completely out of the question, however, considering they have already nerfed the Drum Gun’s damage stats after complaints from fans. The gun only returned to the title at the end of Season 8, where it received the most votes in an Unvaulting event.
