How to get The Mandalorian skin in Fortnite Season 5 with Baby Yoda

Mandalorian and Baby Yoda in FortniteEpic Games

Fortnite Season 5 is here, and it’s got some very exciting things in store – but the one thing fans are most looking forward to is a crossover with The Mandalorian.

Following the success of Season 4’s Nexus War, which introduced skins and weapons based on some of Marvel’s most beloved superheroes and villains including Storm and Venom, Fortnite has once again teamed up with another Disney-owned franchise, Star Wars.

In the gap between Season 4 and Season 5, Epic Games dropped a trailer for the new Battle Pass in which Agent Jones explains that he’s brought together some of the “greatest hunters from across all realities” – including none other than Din Djarin from The Mandalorian.

The trailer shows off the incoming Mandalorian skin accompanied by a little Grogu aka Baby Yoda, which is another back bling cosmetic like Rocket Racoon, from Guardians of the Galaxy.

How to get The Mandalorian Fortnite skin

Unlocking The Mandalorian skin in Fortnite is relatively easy, so expect to see plenty of gamers wearing it.

To get the Mandalorian skin, simply purchase the Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass (or the new Fortnite Crew membership, which includes the Battle Pass) and the skin is unlocked at level 1.

There are plenty more themed items to unlock after the skin; a Mandalorian banner is unlocked at level 3, then there’s a spray at level 5, a loading screen at level 6, and the Razor Crest glider at level 8, with plenty more along the way.

The unlock process for all of these items looks something like this:

  1. Load up Fortnite Battle Royale.
  2. Head into the Battle Pass menu.
  3. Access the Battle Pass challenges screen, and wait for the relevant challenges to appear.
  4. Once they’ve been made available, it’s down to you to complete them.

How to get the Baby Yoda back bling

Unlocking the Baby Yoda back bling is relatively straightforward too, although players may have some difficulty (and need to spend quite a lot of time) getting there.

The adorable sidekick is unlocked when the player reaches tier 100 in the Battle Pass. Good luck on that journey, Star Wars fans.

There are a few ways you can level up your Battle Pass. The most common way is to complete daily and weekly quests to earn XP and gain rewards. Players can also purchase tiers of the Battle Pass using V-Bucks if they want to skip straight to the rewards.

What else can we expect from Fortnite Season 5?

Fortnite has a lot to live up to after Season 4. It saw the introduction of a number of Marvel heroes as well as the Devourer of Worlds, Galactus, for an epic Nexus War finale event.

It’s not expected that the whole season will be themed around The Mandalorian, unlike the previous Marvel-focused Season 4, but it looks like it will likely feature enough Star Wars content to keep fans of the galaxy far, far away happy.

Season 5 also brings with it the arrival of the new Fortnite Crew membership, which includes the Battle Pass, V-Bucks, exclusive skins, and other monthly benefits for a set price.
