Epic Games have announced the release date and time for the v7.40 Content Update in Fortnite Battle Royale while also giving a sneak peek as to what players can expect.
With the Fortnite community still abuzz from the massive v7.40 patch, which has been very positively received by a majority of players, Epic have gone ahead and planned the release of yet another weekly update.
The v7.40 Content Update will go live on Tuesday, February 19 at 5 AM PT / 8 AM ET / 1 PM GMT, and as with previous Content Updates in the past, there will be now downtime.
This means that players will be able to try out the new updates as soon as it goes live and will not need to wait for the servers to come back online.
“Enter the battle in a whole new way! The v7.40 Content Update is a driftin’ in tomorrow,” the official announcement reads.

As usual, players will have to wait until the update goes live to see what it fully contains because the patch notes for it won’t go live until the release time listed above.
However, Epic have already confirmed one new addition that will be made via the v7.40 Content Update – the long awaited Driftboard vehicle.

After being first announced back in December, the Driftboard will finally be making its debut in Fortnite on February 19, and you can see how it will work in-game thanks to some gameplay footage that was leaked a few days ago.
Players can also expect there to be a new Limited Time Mode featuring the Driftboard called ‘Driftin,’ which will give players easy access to try out the new vehicle.
Details for this LTM have also been leaked and it’s in-game description reads: “Land near a Red Supply Drop, grab a Driftboard and some weapons, meet up with your team and race to eliminate the enemies.”
As for the rest of the update’s contents, there’s no reason to expect any other major additions or changes, especially since Content Updates don’t contain any major gameplay changes.
There will likely be some new cosmetic items added to game files for future release, so expect data miners to look for and leak those shortly after the update goes live.
