Fortnitemares is a Halloween-themed event held in Fortnite every year. While this is the third Halloween season since the game’s release, it will be the second event that will actually go by that name.
The event officially goes live on Tuesday, October 29 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 1 PM GMT, so players will have to wait a bit after the update has finished.

This year, Epic Games have revealed that some brand-new versions of the popular Soccer skin is arriving in the store, with the players turned into zombies just in time for Halloween.
Players can also take part in a brand new limited-time mode titled the “Storm King LTM,” which sees a giant monster spawn on the island, intent on destroying it for good. Team up with your friends and take him down for a special reward in the form of a Fortnitemares umbrella.
There’s also a special GunFright community-made game mode, which sees teams of two drop into a fast-paced gunfight where your skill and communication will be tested to the max.
Return of the Ghoul Trooper?
One thing that fans can be sure that Epic will add is a new set of themed cosmetic items for Fortnitemares. While any new item will undoubtedly garner a lot of attention, most of the anticipation seems to be surrounding the possible return of the ultra-rare Ghoul Trooper skin.
The skin is considered to among the rarest in Fortnite because it last featured in the Item Shop on November 28, 2017.
However, according to leaks from some prominent data-miners such as HYPEX, there are indications that the outfit could be brought back to the Shop for the first time in over 700 days.
Of course, Epic have previously set a precedent for doing that, after releasing the similarly-rare Skull Trooper during last year’s Fortnitemares, after it hadn’t been featured in over a year.
When does the v11.10 update go live?
Epic have announced that the v11.10 update will be release on Tuesday, October 29 at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 8 AM GMT. There will be downtime, so expect matchmaking to be disabled about 20-25 minutes before the patch goes live.
Facing your fears is way more fun than fleeing them.
