Fortnite update 18.10 is going to be the first major one since Season 8 premiered, and while the new season has been spectacular at first, players are eager to test out some of the upcoming changes soon.
Fortnite Season 8 has landed with a bang, as players have been able to explore all of the new weapons and the flurry of incredible skins available to unlock within the Battle Pass. But, with only two weeks under its belt, the first patch of the latest season has now gone live.
As well as adding files for several Fortnitemares skins like the Curdle Scream Leader, the update also introduces a new item called the Chili Chug Splash, debuts this season’s Super Styles for the Battle Pass, and gives Steamy Stacks some changes.
Below, we’re going to run over when we can expect downtime to begin (and end), along with all the patch notes we have available right now.

Fortnite update 18.10 patch notes
Steamy Stacks has been damaged
Following the partial abduction of multiple POIs at the end of Season 7, it seems Steamy Stacks is the first location to be altered in Season 8, with leakers sharing images of it looking pretty damaged.
Presumably, this is the result of a new Cube that’s also appeared at the location, although Epic have teased that something may have “escaped from the ground”… perhaps this is in preparation for Fortnitemares?

New item: Chili Chug Splash
A new variation of the Chug Splash item has arrived, and it’s called the Chili Chug Splash. This version will restore 20 Health or Shield and also increase your speed, similar to eating a Pepper.
Chili Chug Splashes can be exchanged for Gold Bars with The Brat, or dropped by Loot Llamas – if you’re lucky enough to find one, that is! The OG Chug Splash has also returned to the loot pool.
Super Level Styles have arrived
Every season, Epic adds rare variations of the current Battle Pass skins that can usually only be unlocked by surpassing Level 100. Well, in the v18.10 update, it looks like Season 8’s Super Styles have arrived.

The three Super Styles for each character are Blue Rune, Purple Rune, and Golden Rune. It doesn’t look like Carnage has any Super Styles – at least not for now.

New ‘Fortnitemares’ Halloween skins
In preparation for this year’s Fortnitemares event, a bunch of Halloween-themed skins have been added to the game. They’re not in the store yet, but they should be added over the next couple of weeks.
These skins include a ‘Geometrik’ Cube-themed skin and a pretty terrifying variation of the Cuddle Team Leader known as the Curdle Scream Leader. You can see all the leaked Fortnite skins and cosmetics here.

XP changes
There have also been a few changes to the way XP works in Season 8. Following this update, XP earned from Daily Punchcards and Character Punchcards has been increased, and Shared Quests now grant XP.
On the flip side, the amount of XP earned from completing Weekly Punchcards has been reduced.
