Fortnite Chapter 6 has arrived bringing a brand-new map for players to explore, packed with new POIs to land at and a fresh theme.

One of the reasons that Fortnite has managed to stay popular over all these years is its ability to reinvent itself. Whether it’s a season packed with Marvel heroes or a throwback to a previous version of the game, each update completely transforms it.

Every new Fortnite season brings a massive facelift to the map, and the Chapter 6 Season 1 update is no exception. Epic’s Hunters update has overhauled the Battle Royale island once again with an all-new map filled with brand-new POIs.

Here’s the revamped Chapter 6 map, its theme, and all the new POIs.

Fortnite Chapter 6 map theme

Fortnite’s new Hunters season is themed around ancient Japan.

Fortnite’s new season titled Hunters is inspired by Samurai and Japanese Mythology. This has taken over both the map and the Battle Pass, which is full of themed skins, including Baymax and Godzilla.

The map features five different biomes, which are as follows:

  • Shrine
  • Rivers
  • Plains
  • Farmlands
  • Forest

This wouldn’t be the first time that Fortnite has taken influence from Japan. Chapter 4 Season 2’s biggest POI was MEGA City, a futuristic version of Tokyo, which also gave way to crossovers with anime franchises like Attack on Titan.

The Fortnite map have been completely overhauled for Chapter 6.

It’s an entirely different map from what we had before, complete with new POIs, routes, and a whole slew of new areas to explore. Areas like the purple forest to the west and autumn temple in the southwest are plain to see from the top down.

It also is a lot more vertical, with the map having enormous snow-peaked mountaintops as well as rivers flowing between them.

Considering Fortnite just got some brand-new movement tech with Chapter 6, it’s no surprise that the devs have made the island a bit more vertical.

Magic Mosses

The overgrown Magic Mosses POI features a moss-covered forest featuring obelisks and underground treasure. Although there aren’t many buildings in the area, it’s packed with chests—just be cautious and keep an eye out for enemy players ambushing you while you loot.

Pumped Power

The Pumped Power station is just east of Magic Mosses and west of Demon’s Dojo. It is a large open area with a similar amount of loot opportunities to the forest, but they are just a lot closer together.

Demon’s Dojo

The Demon’s Dojo POI is in the top right corner of the map and is home to the NPC boss The Night Rose. She can be found at the bottom the dojo, and if you defeat her you will be rewarded with the Night Rose Medallion, as well as the Night Rose Veiled Precision SMG and Night Rose’s Void Oni Mask Mythics.

Twinkle Terrace

Despite being incredibly small, just north of the Nightshift Forest is a small terraced area called Twinkle Terrace that contains 45 chests. It’s not the most interesting place to visit, but it’s certainly worth a quick visit for loot.

Flooded Frogs

The Flooded Frogs features an ancient Japan-inspired building surrounded by water, lilypads, and frog-shaped waterfalls. The building is bright red and stands out as one of the most picturesque locations on the Battle Royale island.

Whiffy Wharf

Whiffy Wharf is a small, remote port located in the far northwest corner of the map, making it one of the most isolated POIs on the island. The loot here is average, and its distant location means you’re better off landing at other locations with better loot, while also avoiding the risk of being caught by the storm.

Lost Lake

Towards the center of the map and just west of the Brutal Boxcars station is the Lost Lake. It is surrounded by vast amounts of shallow water and includes a few small-to-medium-sized buildings with two bright pink cherry blossom trees in the middle.

Brutal Boxcars

Brutal Boxcars is one of the smallest POIs on the Chapter 6 map and it doesn’t feature many chests or loot opportunities. This train station is not one to land at and you’re best avoiding it unless you’re desperate for loot and resources.

Shining Span

Fortnite Shining Span POI on the Chapter 6 map.Epic Games

The Shining Span connects it to neighboring villages such as Canyon Crossing, and other surrounding areas. Despite being a new POI this season, it really is just a big long bridge towards the far east of the map with not much loot or anything else going for it other than its scenic appeal.

Nightshift Forest

The Nightshift Forest, a shadowy area where the sun never shines, is filled with vibrant pink and purple trees, along with plenty of chests scattered throughout. The dense trees provide excellent cover, while a central spot with a few small buildings serves as the focal point of the area.

Warrior’s Watch

The Warrior’s Watch boasts a towering main building with multiple levels, packed with chests, making it an excellent spot for fast looting. It’s also surrounded by several key POIs, including Foxy Floodgate, Nightshift Forest, Canyon Crossing, and Burd, offering plenty of rotation options across the map.

Foxy Floodgate

Floxy Floodgate is an enormous Dam located towards the center of the Chapter 6 map. It has a few open areas of loot with not much cover, and you can easily zipline to the top or bottom.

Seaport City

Located just east of the center of the map, the dense commercial district of Seaport City is low down by the water and situated opposite the enormous Shining Span bridge.

The differing heights will make it a challenge and the various buildings with several levels will mean you will have to watch your back and make use of any height advantages while fighting enemies.

Burd

Burd is reminiscent of a petrol station from Chapter 5. While small, it boasts over 20 chests, making it an alright loot spot. However, aside from that, it doesn’t offer much else and is located far in the southeastern corner of the map.

Canyon Crossing

Nestled below Shogun’s Solitude in the island’s southwest, this cliffside getaway boasts competing bun shops and tall, loot-packed buildings. Suspended above a lake with a sheer drop, it’s rich in rewards but you will need to make sure you don’t fall off the crossing and get instantly eliminated.

Masked Meadows

Masked Meadows captures the essence of a classic Chapter 1 POI such as Pleasant Park, featuring a charming neighborhood with evenly spaced houses and buildings, all centered around a central green area featuring an array of cherry blossom trees.

Shogun’s Soltitude

Fortnite Shogun's Soltitude POI on the Chapter 6 map.Epic Games

Shogun’s Solitude lies in the bottom-left corner of the Chapter 6 Season 1 map, offering a breathtaking landscape dominated by towering mountain peaks and vibrant red treetops. At its summit, you’ll find large Shogun statues and ancient buildings.

While the location is visually stunning, it lacks significant resources or loot, making it a challenging spot to linger. If the storm circle closes in, be prepared for a swift escape, as the steep descent and surrounding waters can make rotating tricky.

Hopeful Heights

Hopeful Heights is similar to Masked Meadows but smaller and more industrial in nature. Located at the bottom right corner of the island, it’s surrounded by little else, making it a less favorable landing spot—unless you prefer to avoid the action and play more stealthily.

That’s the new Battle Royale island for Chapter 6 and all of its POIs. For more Fortnite content, check out all the NPCs to help you, every new weapon added, and all the quests available this season.
