Chapter 6 theme

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 map.Epic Games
Chapter 6 looks set to feature a similar theme to the Japanese-themed Chapter 4 Season 2.

Each new season and chapter in Fortnite is usually linked with a theme. This year alone, we’ve had a mythology-inspired theme, post-apocalyptic, and even a Marvel season – and for Chapter 6, it looks like this will be based on Japanese Traditional Lore and Mythology, according to leaker Wenso.

If this is accurate, this won’t be the first time a Japanese-themed map has been featured in the game. Chapter 4 Season 2 had MEGA City, a location which resembled a futuristic version of Tokyo, with high rise buildings and ziplines all over the place. It also had some Japanese-themed houses around it.

Map

Shortly after the Chapter 2 Remix update dropped, leakers have been revealing several details about the Chapter 6 Season 1 map.

Biomes

Shrines similar to the Elemental Shrines with the Avatar: The Last Airbender are set to appear.

The biggest leak yet has been the list of all the alleged biomes that will feature across the island next season. The biomes started to appear on the Chapter 6 Fortnite map will include:

  • Shrine
  • Rivers
  • Plains
  • Farmland
  • Forest

Despite the majority of these or similar ones already being included in previous seasons, the Shrines biome is the one that sticks out due to its connection to the alleged Japanese Mythology theme.

Previous events, such as the Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration in Chapter 5 Season 2, featured Elemental Shrines that granted bending powers, suggesting a similar concept could play a major role in Chapter 6.

New map mechanics

Leaker Wensoing has also stated that the upcoming Forest biome will feature a Day/Night cycle, with different animals and NPCs appearing depending on the time of day.

While details on how these will impact gameplay are scarce, this dynamic addition is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Industrial Town POI

While we already have a general idea of what some of the POIs will look like, apparently the Chapter 6 map will seemingly include a new “Industrial Town” POI. This information was obtained from ShiinaBR, who mentioned that Epic has “added new references for it to the game recently.”

An image of Steamy Shacks was included in the post, which is a classic location that’s known to be a Cube-powered power plant from Chapter 2. Considering how leaks have pointed out that the next chapter will be based on a Japanese theme, it’ll be interesting to see how this POI will be implemented visual-wise.

Demon Arena

Another location that’s rumored to arrive in Chapter 6 is a “Demon Arena.” According to leakers, players will be able to fight NPCs for loot, which is likely to be higher tier ones considering you have to put an effort to stay alive and battle it out to victory.

While this isn’t officially confirmed yet as of now, it already looks very fitting because not only Chapter 6 features a Japanese theme, it looks like a Demon Slayer collab will also be released around the same time.

Weapons and items

The iconic Masamune Blades, historically wielded by ancient Samurai, are expected to be introduced as a weapon in the first season of Chapter 6. While details on their rarity (Mythic or otherwise), stats, and how to get them are unknown, they are setup to be an instant fan-favorite.

Katanas have been a fan-favorite in Fortnite after their debut with the Kinetic Blade in Chapter 4 Season 2. Since then, several blade variations have been introduced, including the iconic Leonardo’s Katanas Mythic from the TMNT collaboration at the start of Chapter 5.

Leaked skins, battle pass, and potential collabs

Battle pass skins

Fortnite dataminer Shiina posted the leaked promo art for the Chapter 6 battle pass. It includes Disney character Baymax, a gigantic Godzilla, a new version of Hope, and several new faces, including a Samurai and a new anime girl skin.

All leaked skins

Well-known leaker HYPEX has shared some of the skins from a survey that include Samurai-themed outfits and others that draw inspiration from Japanese fashion.

Demon Slayer

Shiina revealed on November 24 that a collaboration with the hit anime Demon Slayer is “coming soon” to Fortnite, in a brief post to their Twitter/X account. Despite not stating if it is expected to arrive next season, with the season’s theme being Japanese Samurai, it makes the rumor seem all but confirmed.

Godzilla

Similar to the Demon Slayer reveal, leakers have not been able to disclose what to exactly expect from a Godzilla collaboration coming to Chapter 6. However, according to SamLeakss who originally leaked the collab, it looks set to arrive as a collab with both Fortnite and Rocket League.

“I’ve recently heard that the Monsterverse could be collaborating with Fortnite and Rocket League, and now, in the new RL S17 teaser, you can see the Monarch Logo on one of the arcade machines, which confirms this collab!” They posted alongside an image of the claimed Monarch Logo from Godzilla.

Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals has announced an upcoming crossover with Fortnite, revealed via the official Marvel account on Twitter/X.

The collaboration will revolve around the “Chronoverses” theme and feature a limited-time event launching with the game’s release on December 6, 2024. Players who complete a specific challenge in Marvel Rivals will earn the Rivaled Sailer glider for free.

Additionally, the developers have teased an exclusive skin coming to Fortnite’s Item Shop. While some fans speculate it could be Doom 2099, others believe it might be Galacta, both of whom are playable characters in Marvel Rivals.

Spider-Man’s Spider-Verse

Two Spidey skins from the Spider-Verse are set to arrive in Fortnite, but it is unknown whether these are expected to arrive in Chapter 6 Season 1, or later seasons.

According to ShiinaBR and FNBRIntel, the same source who “confirmed” that the Doom 2099 skin was a Marvel Rivals collab coming soon, has also stated that “Spider-Man Noir & Peter Parker skins are in the works.”

New Jeans

There’s also the rumored K-Pop collab coming in Fortnite Festival in Chapter 6. Initially, it wasn’t clear which K-Pop group will be featured. However, recent leaks have pointed out this will be South Korean girl group NewJeans.

Aside from getting featured in Festival, it appears that the group will be getting their concert as well along with skins and emotes.

Lana Del Ray and Calvin Harris

Music stars Calvin Harris and Lana Del Ray have also been mentioned in the same rumor by SamLeaks. They are said to potentially be joining Fortnite soon with “either Emotes or Jam Tracks” and the release date for both is unknown.

New mechanics coming to the game

Earlier this year, leakers pointed out that Chapter 6 will be bringing swinging and prone mechanics to the game

Now, swinging isn’t exactly new in the game, as we’ve had similar mobility items in the past that would allow players to swing, like Spider-Man’s Web Shooter and Grapple Gloves.

Regardless of that, it’ll be interesting to see how this might be introduced in the Battle Royale once the chapter goes live later on.

Meanwhile, prone is something new that has not been added to the game before. If you’ve played PUBG or other popular shooters, then you’d be familiar with this mechanic in no time. Prone is essentially where your character lies down on the ground.

It’s useful when you want to hide yourself from the enemy, either to heal up, reload, or reposition without getting caught.

Other leaks suggest that first-person mode will be coming to the game in Chapter 6. As of now, this feature can only be used in UEFN and Creative Maps.

Additionally, it’s likely that the game will be getting weapon charms and a floating island theme in this chapter, according to leakers.

Last but not least, recently there’s some more information on the creative pet support that was revealed a while ago by dataminers. Apparently this could refer to “Sprites,” essentially cat-like animals that will follow you around the map.

So far, we know it’s related to an upcoming Shrine feature, but whether or not this will work similarly like animals in the past or hired NPCs is still unknown. If it’s like the first one, then it’s possible players may be able to use them as a transportation, like boars and wolves in a previous chapter.

Leaked game modes

As compiled by Egyptian Fortnite Leaker from various sources, it appears some new game modes are in development and are rumoured to be coming into the game. There are a total of nine of them, each with a different codename.
