The build-up event began with the Mount Olympus statue emitting blue light rays with heavy storm clouds which marked Stage 1. By the time it was Stage 3, the statue’s eyes started to glow and at Stage 5 a lightning bolt hit the structure.

In the following 3 stages, the statue raised its sword up in the air and struck a lightning bolt at the Pandora’s Box currently sunken in the Styx River by the Restored Reels POI.

At first, the statue emitted blue lightning which eventually turned red and stuck the Pandora’s Box once again which overloaded it and resulted in it being sunken deeper into the river.

Furthermore, the box burst out a glowing red element that bounced across the island and caused a blast on the horizon of the Chapter 5 Season 2 map. This further caused a Sandstorm coming towards the island from the distance.

Soon, red lightning was observed near the Sandstorm that data miners like ShiinaBR believe is speaking in Morse code, which translates to “No Hope”. Furthermore, the music played during the live event featured heavy electric guitar riffs which players thought hints toward the rumored Metallica collab coming to Fortnite Festival soon.

Now the sandstorm is fast approaching on the island, with the southern areas of the map receiving waves of the storm and the sky being covered with dark clouds.

It is unknown exactly how long the event will last, but it is expected to carry on till Chapter 5 Season 3 begins on May 24th.

What is the next season’s theme?

The next season will feature Fallout-themed gameplay where players will be dropped into a barren wasteland of an apocalyptic era, much like the Fallout universe itself.
