The Fortnite map has once again been shaken up with a mix of new and old locations to visit in Chapter 4 Season 1. If you want to find the best loot at the start of the game, knowing where to land is key – so here are the best landing spots in Fortnite right now.

Chapter 4 has brought a lot of exciting changes to Fortnite, from a brand new Island appearing at the beginning of Season 1 to new rideable dirt bikes and several long-awaited crossovers including Doom, The Witcher, and My Hero Academia.

Of course, a completely new Island means a brand new map full of POIs and landmarks to discover. Many of these fit into the season’s medieval theme, like the castle at The Citadel and the houses at Faulty Splits, but there’s also a frozen biome and an old-school farm to explore.

Understandably players will need to spend time figuring out which location is the best to land in with all of these changes. To help with this, we’ve put together a list of five of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.

Best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 4

1. Faulty Splits

In terms of pure loot, Faulty Splits is the number one POI to land at in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. There are 57 regular Chests spotted throughout this location, with five top-tier Oathbound Chests to be found if you head slightly southeast out of the town.

Still not happy with your weapons? Scrapknight Jules is on hand to sell you an Epic rarity Assault Rifle or Rocket Launcher (both of which appear on our best weapons list). This is also one of the most visually interesting locations in the game, merging a modern city with an old-school medieval town.

2. Shattered Slabs

If you’re looking for fast-paced and hectic gameplay, then Shattered Slabs is the location for you. The main appeal here is Kinetic Ore, which can be struck multiple times before launching at your enemies, and there are loads of traversal options like zip lines and dirt bikes scattered around to try out.

The layout of Shattered Slabs also means there are plenty of places to hide to help you land a surprise attack on other players, including some underground tunnels that make this POI a lot more interesting than it may seem at first glance.

3. The Citadel

The Citadel POI in Fortnite

While it may be located off to the western side of the map, The Citadel really feels like the central POI this season. It’s a huge, sprawling castle that has plenty of corridors and rooms to explore, and you’re guaranteed to find loads of useful weapons and items here in regular Chests and Oathbound Chests.

Because this POI covers such a huge amount of ground, it’s also incredibly varied. If you want to be right in the action, head to the main castle and face The Ageless Champion boss alongside other players. If you’d rather something quieter, check out the surrounding towers and buildings for some great loot.

4. Lonely Labs

If you’re the kind of player who prefers to avoid intense gunfights and sneak your way through to the final moments of a match, then the strangely peaceful Lonely Labs is a great place to land after leaving the Battle Bus.

Because it’s so far out on the map, there won’t be many players to compete with, but there’s still a good amount of Chests and Ammo Boxes to search through, while an array of ziplines and vehicles can help you escape before the Storm gets to you.

5. Frenzy Fields

Frenzy Fields bears more than a few similarities to the Chapter 2 location Frenzy Farm, which is perfect for longtime Fortnite fans who are feeling a little nostalgic. There’s a capture point, plenty of floor loot, two Weapon-o-matics, an upgrade bench, and loads of dirt bikes so there’s plenty to do here.

Unlike other POIs that are filled with buildings and tiny hiding spots, Frenzy Fields is wide open, which is great for players who want quick shootouts or prefer using long-range weapons like the DMR to snipe opponents from a distance. It’s also one of the prettiest locations with the new 5.1 Unreal Engine.
