Epic Games have given Fortnite Battle Royale fans their first look at the upcoming Getaway Limited Time Mode and the all-new item named “The Grappler”.
Part of the High Stakes event that will be going live soon in-game, the Getaway LTM loads four safes into the map in supply drops – the objective is for teams to locate a safe, collect the prize inside and then make a getaway!
Also on display was the new Grappler item which allows players to grab hold of objects and buildings and then fly towards them (like a super-advanced grappling hook with plunger instead of a hook).
The Grappler will add yet another new way of moving around the map and is sure to usher in a plethora of new playstyles and counter-plays.

The Getaway LTM is also sure to be a big hit with fans as it offers a totally different objective the normal Battle Royale mode and most previous LTMs that tend to focus purely on getting the Victory Royale.
The introduction to the new mode and was presented by popular Twitch streamers Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop and Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo at PAX West.
The two entertainers are currently commentating live on the final Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament of the year which is taking place at the gaming convention in Seattle.
The eventual winner of the $1.5 million event will be decided on September 3. Players like Tfue, 72hrs, Tennpo, Hysteria and Chap are all still in the running.
