Data miners reveal more details about Fortnite’s Leaky Lake event and the mysterious portal

New assets for Fortnite Battle Royale suggest that the portal at Leaky Lake will go through six stages of growth before the next significant event takes place.

The assets were found by dataminers in the aftermath of the last major event related to the cube, which took place on Saturday, October 20.

Inside Fortnite’s assets folder, there are six files titled “BPGrowth_House_Glow”, followed by numbered stages all the way up to Stage Six.

The file names featuring the term “House” in their title indicates that this event may be related to the dwelling found on top of Cube Island, with fans noticing that some strange purple cubes had begun to creep up the side of house.

Since then, a massive beam of light has been shooting out of the cube into the sky. At the top of the beam of light is what appears to be a portal, however players who have managed to make it up to the portal have so far been unable to enter it, or figure out what it will do. We may see the portal grow over the next few days, thanks to these assets.

The saga regarding the mysterious cube, affectionately nicknamed Kevin by the Fortnite community, has been raging on for some time, with the in-game event taking place over multiple seasons of the popular battle royale title.

Fans are excited to find out what will happen when this event finally reaches its conclusion, with hope that there may be a real-time in-game event, similar to the rocket launch that took place during Season 4.
