Fortnite star Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore addressed rumors of conflict with long-term teammate Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney, after they didn’t team up in the July 13 trio tournament.

Cloak and Tfue are one of the most successful duos in Fortnite history, despite not qualifying for the World Cup, their victories at TwitchCon and other events have seen them scoop almost $1 million in prize money combined.

The duo were expected to partner with Team Liquid star Thomas ‘72hrs’ Mulligan in the first ever official trios tournament taking place on July 13-14. However, the team fell apart at the last minute with Tfue choosing to play with FaZe Clan’s Sway and Misfits Gaming’s Cody ‘Clix’ Conrad instead.

The decision took Cloak and 72hrs by surprise, with the pair both tweeting out they were looking for a trio to play with at the last minute.

It also took fans by surprise, who took to Reddit and social media to speculate about a possible rift between the two former FaZe Clan stars.

While playing with fellow streamer Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo, the Cloak addressed the rumors of conflict that emerged on Reddit, claiming the split was a result of conflicting schedules – not because there was any “drama”.

Questioned whether there was real drama between him and Tfue, Cloak said: “Me and Tom normally played. But Turner gets on at like 11pm. I still thought we were going to play together but he texted me in the morning saying he’s going to play with these guys.

“Me and Tom normally practice everyday until like 11, and then Turner would hop on at like 11.”

FaZe CloakCloak and Tfue competed with brand new trio teams.

On the day of the tournament, Epic Games announced a shocking change after failing to fix a bug that had appeared in the trio mode, perhaps suggesting their servers can’t currently handle so many elite level players together.

If that’s the case, we may not be seeing trios in future tournaments, meaning it’s more than likely we’ll see Tfue and Cloak reunited very soon.
