Epic Games have officially announced details regarding the upcoming Fortnite World Cup, including dates, location, and how Fortnite players can secure their spot at the big event.

The Fortnite World Cup was first announced as part of Epic’s roadmap to the 2018-19 competitive season, but very little was offered in terms of information regarding the major event.

How do I qualify for the Fortnite World Cup?

Fortnite fans will have the opportunity to seal their place at the Fortnite World Cup through ten weeks of Online Qualifiers. These will run from April 13 to June 16, with $1 million in the prize pool for each weekly qualifying event.

Epic Games state that the “top 100 Solo players and the top 50 Duos teams from around the world will join us for the Fortnite World Cup Finals,” meaning that there are plenty of opportunities for World Cup hopefuls to seal their place at the event.

When and where is the Fortnite World Cup finals?

The Fortnite World Cup Finals will be held on July 26-28 in New York City, although the exact location of the tournament is yet to be announced.

What is the prize pool for the Fortnite World Cup Finals?

The Fortnite World Cup features the biggest prize pool in the game’s history, with $30 million on the line for those who make it to New York City. Epic Games state that “Each one of those players will be guaranteed at least $50,000 and the Fortnite World Cup Solo Champion will walk away with $3,000,000.”

What is happening at the Fortnite World Cup?

Not only will Solos and Duos tournaments take place at the Fortnite World Cup, there will also be a number of other events taking place at the Finals, with “fun custom challenges in different modes and formats” for players who aren’t interested in the battle royale tournaments.

Other modes and challenges will be at the Fortnite World Cup for attendees not interested in battle royale.

How do I watch the Fortnite World Cup?

While Epic Games are yet to release any information about how the Fortnite World Cup will be broadcasted, it’s likely that the entire tournament will be broadcast on Fortnite’s official Twitch channel. Epic Games also stated that fans could enjoy the tournament either “ in-person or by tuning in online”, but there is currently no information about tickets available.

What is Fortnite’s competitive roadmap for 2019?

Alongside the exciting announcement of the Fortnite World Cup, Epic Games have reaffirmed their commitment to the competitive community, by announcing that the $1 million weekly tournaments will continue throughout the remainder of 2019, with Epic expecting to hand out $100 million in prize money by the end of the year.
